7/18/2010 Mickey's Baltic Ballyhoo!! Part 4

I took a pair of shorts last summer and wished I had taken another pair along. I did wear them around the ship and should have worn a pair in Warnemunde and Amsterdam.

I also did what Andrew suggested in another post - watch Wimbeldon to get a feel for the weather. We've gone over that same time of year many times and I always watch the matches for a few days to see how the weather is.

I'll definitely be bringing a few pairs of shorts. I'm usually comfortable in shorts with either a long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt if it gets a little cool.

I just online checked in for our cruise in July........:woohoo:

Sweet!

Ok, the car is finally fixed and my 3 girls are arriving shortly.......life is good!!

:banana::banana::banana:

Happy 4th to all, especially to our Brit friends........sorry tough luck......
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::sad2:(Just Kidding.........:hug:)

 :woohoo: :yay: Having a car that runs is a great feeling after being without it for a few days.
What was wrong with it that it kept stalling out on you?

Mine now needs it's 36,000 mile check-up, but DD said to wait until after the cruise next week so it doesn't break down on us going to the port. She doesn't want anything happening to it on the way to/from the port like what happened at home. I thought that was good thinking on her part.

Let's wait until Fall, that way more of us can make it.......this summer has been a little stressful so far for me........the car, the new aunt, too many trips in traffic to the beach and back.......I have to start traveling off hours........:confused3
:thumbsup2

You are most welcome. It really is a good overview of the city. I'm really hoping for a sunny day for at least 1 day we are there. Apparently StP isn't known for lots of sunny days. :headache: :confused3
DCL is usually good about supplying rain ponchos if needed. I look like a chia pet when it rains so I would rather it didn't:rolleyes1

We didn't get to the port until 10:20 and then I checked in and went down to the supervisor's desk to ask about upgrades. When I checked there were still 6 cat. 3's available. I waited about 5 minutes, until DH got into the terminal, and went back over to do the upgrade and the same 6 cabins were still available. When I was finished with my upgrade another family upgraded an oceanview cabin to a cat. 3 for $1000.

I think the buses start leaving the Hyatt around 9:00-9:30 so you may have a chance so keep your fingers crossed.
:thumbsup2Thanks
We're in a cat 11 so an upgrade to a cat 3 will be more than that-but I think I convinced DH to take it if we can.

See I'm usually cold so I don't wear shorts until it gets really hot-highs 80s.
I figure some summery skirts will come in handy for dinner and if it gets hot during the day:confused3
Now my family is a different story- I'll pack 3-4 each for them (just 1-2 for me).

Just a quick hello and hope all is well.

:goodvibesGood Morning All:goodvibes
Building an Ark here!:confused3
Do not complain about the heat Andrew I think global warming has reversed the weather pattern New England has had GB's weather for the month of June 60's cloudy lots of rain & so far July has not been any better!:sad2:
Though they say things are looking up for July!:dance3:

:thumbsup2Thanks

If you are able to upgrade from a cat. 11 to a cat. 3 it would be the same as we paid, $1130. They price the upgrades by type of cabin booked; inside, outside, verandah, family verandah, not from each individual cat. number.

I'll let you know how we make out on Sunday since I'm going to try and upgrade again. We'll get to the port sooner than 10:20 so we have a better shot since I will have to park and then go check in. I don't think they'll let DD do our check in.

Weather is looking better here for the weekend; not as much rain and in the low 90's. Much better rain forecast than we've seen all week long.

We're in on building that Ark, Robert. We just had another thunder shower. This must make over 30 days in a row of some sort of rain. :headache:

:goodvibes Welcome to the weekend, and one month, one week to my holiday.

Have a good weekend Andrew.

Anyone have any plans for the 4th - besides staying dry?
We are heading over to Epcot and Hollywood Studios in a few minutes. Going to a 4th picnic at our realtors house tomorrow evening and then heading to the Wonder on Sunday.
A busy weekend, but at least we are packed for the cruise. :woohoo:

Hi there- I hope I'm not "gate crashing" but I'm new to this forum; I'm booked on the 7/18/10 Baltic cruise, and I wanted to say HI!

I've been to Disney World several times over the years, but this is the first Disney Cruise I'll have taken. I'm going with a good friend and her sister who are veteran Disney Cruisers.

I also wanted to say thank you to everyone for the great information I've been reading here- especially all the travel links in the first post- a wealth of info!

I can not wait for this trip- I wish it were this July!

And you have chosen a great DCL cruise for your first one.

Most of the people here are mad ( well the rest are as well but they wouldnt admit to it) But dont let that put you off, they all know quite a bit about cruising.
