7/18/2010 Mickey's Baltic Ballyhoo!! Part 4

I just did a pretend booking for 5, not cat. 4's available. For 4, only cat. 5, 9, 10, & 11 available. For 2 or 3, cat. 5-11 is available. Not sure how many of each cabin is available tho, didn't go thru the entire booking process to find out.

:thumbsup2

If you are able to upgrade from a cat. 11 to a cat. 3 it would be the same as we paid, $1130. They price the upgrades by type of cabin booked; inside, outside, verandah, family verandah, not from each individual cat. number.

I'll let you know how we make out on Sunday since I'm going to try and upgrade again. We'll get to the port sooner than 10:20 so we have a better shot since I will have to park and then go check in. I don't think they'll let DD do our check in.
:thumbsup2 Thanks
I'm getting psyched for our trip:woohoo:

Didnt read my history books, independance from who??:confused3
:rotfl:
Long time ago..we don't hold grudges;)

Hi there- I hope I'm not "gate crashing" but I'm new to this forum; I'm booked on the 7/18/10 Baltic cruise, and I wanted to say HI!

I've been to Disney World several times over the years, but this is the first Disney Cruise I'll have taken. I'm going with a good friend and her sister who are veteran Disney Cruisers.

I also wanted to say thank you to everyone for the great information I've been reading here- especially all the travel links in the first post- a wealth of info!

I can not wait for this trip- I wish it were this July!
WELCOME ABOARD:cheer2::cheer2:

We're sitting in our room at Disney's Grand Californian! We surprised the girls with a trip down here for the weekend. We were in DCA this morning and it wasn't too busy! Haven't been over to Disneyland yet. We used Developer points for our room and have our Annual Passes, so we're good to go!
Lucky you:thumbsup2
We need pics:confused3

Thank you all again for the warm welcomes, and Happy Independence Day to everyone on this side of the pond!

I do have a few questions that maybe you guys could help with:

What would you recommended as a "not to be missed" thing to do on board ship? A certain restaurant, or a show for example?

I've been to Norway, Germany & England before, but none of the other countries- I'm especially interested in Estonia & Russia- Does anyone have any tips for must sees or travel tips for those countries?

I've looked into getting a individual visa for Russia and it's a pain- so that is one place I figured I'd do a cruise sponsored excursion....has anyone ever traveled there on their own?

Thank you all so much!
Leslie
Not to be missed on board...mmm...Palo and Disney Dreams are my pics

I agree with Barb, check out a private tour company before going on your own- She has one listed on the first page of the thread.

Hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th.

Heading up to bed before heading over to the Wonder in a few hours. :woohoo: :yay:
Catch you all in a few days.

:laughing:See this where my hearing loss comes in handy.
Both my son and I snore so on the cruise there may be someone complaining about us:rolleyes1

:):thumbsup2

I never had any issues, but a next door cabin once said they loved my kids English accents when they argued! :scared1:

Great we have a Cat 3, they can argue in the middle of the room,

WELCOME!

Have a great weekend. Love the location and love the back entrance into CA.

Went to Epcot and the Studios this afternoon and neither of them were too busy either. Went to DTD tonight and that was a whole different story. If it hadn't been too hot we would have just sat and people watched for a while, but there was no air moving and we weren't sitting without the air moving. Saw many 'interesting' sights, to say the least. :confused3

I guess this is why Disney is "rearranging" PI.

Have a great trip, Barb!

Heading out in a few minutes. Everyone play nice. :grouphug:

Love that accent too:thumbsup2
My DH and DD commented on hearing the tv of our next door neighbor during the day, but other than that the only time we were aware of our neighbors was on the verandha during the PC crossing.

This is horrible, a monorail crash at 2:00 this morning, 1 driver is killed: http://www.clickorlando.com/news/19954891/detail.html

The news just said the monorails are out of service.
I heard sirens a little after 2 this morning, now I know why.
:guilty: so sad.

My brother used to drive the monorail at WDW:sad2:

This was the message my brother left me on facebook:

"The monorail has a shutoff system if you get too close to the monorail in front of you. Not only does it shut off but it starts beeping like crazy. Either that system failed or the driver did that on purpose."

Just talked to him and we can't imagine someone doing this on purpose with people in the cars. I think he was just so shocked to get the news and was trying to figure out how it could have happened:sad2:

Thank you for this and all the great welcomes and tips posted by others (not sure how to quote mulitple posts yet to thank everyone.....)

I will have fun today checking out the links on the first post and the other tips given- I am still amazed at the wealth of information on these forums- I was even able to find pictures of what our room will look like, all the restaurants, etc.! I have no big trip planned this summer so I'm living vicariously through dreaming of what I'll be doing this time next year!

I guess it's a while yet before they post what the excursions will be, huh?

Its sad news, a thought is it was 2am extended hours due to July 4th, maybe either driver or train worked too long,

In the lower right hand corner of the posts (when you are logged in) there should be 3 icons. The second one will have paper, quotes and a plus sign. Left click on that and it will turn red, then do the same to all the other posts you want to answer, then when you are done click on a reply icon (either in the last post or at the bottom of the page). You will then be able to reply to all the posts.
It took me a while to figure it out too

I also think the planning of a big cruise like this is almost as fun as the actual cruise itself;)

I thought there was an article posted by someone where they mentioned something about a princess ball in St Petersburg as an excursion.
Not sure if the link to the article is on the first page.
Anyway the list of excursions will be available closer to cruise time:thumbsup2

Never had an issue on verandahs everyone so nice!

No problem for us on verandhas either. It fact it was very cool to watch the locks working with other people on their verandhas

Its sad news, a thought is it was 2am extended hours due to July 4th, maybe either driver or train worked too long,

I thought the same thing at first Andrew, but my brother insisted that unless the driver did it on purpose (manual over-ride) that there was an electrical safety system that ensured that this kind of accident couldn't happen. He also said that the drivers were not happy overall with the way the monorails were serviced so maybe the human error was elsewhere:confused3

So glad that there wasn't a family riding in the driver car when this happened. I know they have rules regarding when passengers can ride with the driver. I wonder if that will change.

We should be sent a DVD on excursions in November this year.

I posted a link several pages back to a report by some-one that went around ports with Disney whilst they were trying to identify excursions & it was mentioned there. Sounds cool, but I'm guessing it would be $$$$$ and a limited number

Celestine

Welcome Leslie! I loved all the shows on board. I even enjoyed seeing the characters. I would make my dgd go get autographs just so I could go see them!:rotfl2::lmao::lmao::lmao::rotfl2::lmao: I love my pictures of the princesses I got to take. I will post some pictures of my princess layouts Laurie.

Yeah true, depending on the price it might not be worth it for my clan:headache:
I'm the romantic one in my familyprincess:

Scrapbooking has fallen by the wayside of late-trying to get work done and my house clean enough for my DMiL:rolleyes:
She is babysitting for us when we cruise on DCL next week.
She likes to help us by pointing all the things we should change about our house.

:thumbsup2Thanks!!
I think we may need our own website at some point to organize all the info:confused3
A Diser named Ed set up one for our last cruise where individuals could post info to different pages and sections of the website. It was wonderful:cloud9:
Wish I knew how he did it though:confused3
Hopefully someone with that kind of knowhow will pop in at some point- or does someone have a teen that can do that:confused3
