I wasn't trying to lecture anyone before when I mentioned the nasty comments on the main board. I was just joking about the contrast. A minor "squabble" here was nothing in comparison to the remarks on the main board.

It is such a shame. I used to really enjoy the main board and brag to my husband how nice the DIS people were.
I guess some people just enjoy arguing

I had started reading the thread you are talking about and then I saw it getting nasty and won't open it again. Some people feel that some things posted are made up and just can't believe bad things can happen. Others just feel the need to argue and think they are always right. But you should go over to cruise critic if you want nasty people . Wow, I've never read things like what goes on over there.


But some things truely are made up on these boards to make situations look bad. That happened on the WDW boards and the OP got called out on it and had to come clean with the facts and they weren't pretty. To make it worse, it dealt with the loss of their own family member.

Most of the time it's fine, just everyone once in awhile it gets bad. The moderators do a good job of warning people when they feel they need to.

Most people on the DIS cruise board are fine
I guess I'm somewhat naive as I still get surprised when these unpleasant threads pop up

My DH has been on several Star Wars forums and lately a watch forum and he would tell me about the things people would post. Yes, some people feel no need to filter their thoughts

If someone started asking for money I would be suspicious- but relaying a cautionary tale to warn others-not something that would make me doubt enough to call that person a liar

I've never had anyone flame me...yet...or at least not so I noticed

I wind up getting upset when I see someone else get attacked
I've put people on my ignore list as a reminder to myself that this is a person that has gotten very nasty in the past

I don't like arguing-waste of time and energy.

I try to be nice, but I HAVE been flamed and I ran and hid. Actually the reason I know about the warnings, is that people who have been warned have shared it with me as a PM. Then they usually disappear off the boards. Everyone is safe here.

My youngest daughter Amanda got married in October. We've been waiting for the video, the videographer is quite serious about his work. But he sent us this snippet and I thought I would share. Madison is the flower girl, she will be our little travel companion.

Ok that was FANTASTIC! As you may have heard, my oldest DD is "on the verge"............your wedding looked wonderful. Was that your first child marrying or have you done it before? I really liked the video, thx so much for sharing!!

We had a wedding for my older daughter, the maid of honor, but that didn't last. Extremely wrong choice. But in both cases we looked for all inclusives. You can add as much or as little as you want. They contract florists & bakeries. It was very easy. We were happy with everything.

Wow, that was beautiful. I loved her black/white/red color scheme. It looked like a bautiful day for everyone.

We did the all-inclusive as well and it made everything so much easier and cheaper. We did it more for convenience for our guests since we got married on Friday night at 8pm. Also, because we didn't want to lose a day of our honeymoon since we went to London - it was all about me for traveling.
