So what are people more interested in for 2011: a short cruise on the new ship, the Dream, or a longer and possibly more diverse cruise on the Wonder out of California? Or both, if you could afford it?:goodvibes

I wouldn't mind taking the Wonder through the Canal to California :rolleyes1

I was on the Wonder last week on the 10th anniversary 3 night cruise. The real surprise (for me) was winning $1100 on the final Bingo jackpot - that was nice.....

Nice win at Bingo. Did you rebook another cruise with your winnings? :upsidedow

Since the Wonder is supposed to begin sailings out of CA 1/4/2011 my guess is the repo cruise will be over Christmas. I'm pretty sure that's the date Capt. Henry told me last month.

Glad you had a good vacation, Barb!:cool2:

Thanks Julie. I really did forget how steep some of those hills are in SF. :scared1: I have no clue how those women wear the really high heels walking up and down them. :confused3

Congrats on the big Bingo win! Did you play electronically or on a paper card?

Taking the Wonder through the PC would be terrific - and over Christmas! Wow!:goodvibes

Calves of steel!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I know, those hills are incredible . . .

Hello everyone - I know I haven't been a participant on this thread - work and life just keeping me busy and haven't had much time to be on the boards lately.

I just wanted to say hello and have a question

What are everyone's plans in St Petersburg. Are you doing a ship excursions, getting your own Visa and going off on your own or doing a private shore excursion?
Hey Jo:yay:
Yeah, I booked with the same tour guide that Barb had-Anastasia (see first page of thread). Reasonable price and flexible itinerary.

Just me and the girls . . . I think a few others on this thread were thinking of joining together and doing a larger group, though.
Larger groups lower the cost per person, but you don't want too large or you don't see enough. I think anyone that hasn't been there before probably wants to see the same things mostly. I'm sure we can get some groups together in the next few months.

Hi everyone. Wow so much has changed since I was on vacation and getting caught up with life back at home.
It's been nice to hear from some who haven't posted in a while.
Sad to hear some are cancelling the cruise, but totally understand that family has to come first.
Congrats to Robert on the pirate:. Yes, I did update the first post in the thread.
Sorry to hear Andrew's cruise was changed, but glad to hear he's having a great time.
Laurie sounds like you had a great time in Brazil, saw a couple of pics on FB that you were tagged in and the bride and groom looked fabulous.

I think that's about it, but if I forgot anyone sorry.

Had a great time in San Fran, the city is a great place to visit. We had wonderfully dry weather the entire week, it was really nice. There were a few times when the fog was thick and it was windy, but that beats the FL storms any day and the heat & humidity that was here in DE. Met up with friends from our '05 Mexican Riveria DCL cruise and it was so much fun to catch up with them, had a nice relaxing appetizer buffet and drinks at the Tonga Room.

I'm not even going to try and catch up with the main boards, probably not worth it anyways.
Hey Barb:yay:
The wedding in Brazil was amazing. Sounds like you had a great vacation too:thumbsup2
Now back to normal life:upsidedow

Wow, nice bingo win:thumbsup2 We won $100 at bingo in July.

I remember those hills when my parents took me to SF as a kid:scared1:
I prefer nice, flat VA;)

WOW!!!!!!:worship::worship::worship: I suck at bingo and any other game that should involve me possibly winning money.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

School starts on Monday :scared1: . I hate that early morning routine since I'm not a morning person. :headache:

We are going down to FL for Labor Day weekend tho. Just a quick trip for my b'day to get my b'day money from Mickey since we have AP's.

Ok Robert, did I scare you away?!? I come back from vacation and start posting again and you stay away.

Nope I had nothing to add!:confused3;):scared1:

Watched the NCL Spirit leave Boston from my Kitchen Yesterday I wonder where it was heading as Bill is sure to be in the way!:3dglasses

My son is going for his license on Wednesday!:scared1::eek:

I talked to my TA about waitlists for 2011 & 2012 cruises!

:goodvibesGood Morning All:goodvibes

Bob and I leave this coming Thursday for Seattle and then our Celebrity cruise leaves Friday to Alaska for a week!!:cool1:

That sounds fantastic! I have always hoped DCL would end up with Alaskan cruises . . . I have never been to Alaska.

Sorry about the school routine . . . my girls start back Sept. 9th. The Labor day trip sounds fun, though:thumbsup2

We will have a 24 year old with us on the cruise. Sarah will have just finished her second year of law school before this cruise.

I am so anxious to meet you. Thank you so much for your beautiful card. We will most definately get together. Ryan has a degree in graphic arts and just took a job as a restuarant manager. Strange where your path leads you, but I think he will be happy. He took the job with the understanding that he had to be off next summer for this trip and they said no problem, so I think they really wanted him!:thumbsup2

My DH and I will be 27 (almost 28) on this cruise. :goodvibes

Great! He thinks girls are too expensive so maybe you can convince him otherwise!:rotfl:

Hi, Jo!:love::love::love::love: I've already got a request in for a private shore excursion for the two days there . . . that way we get to do exactly what we want to do without being herded around on buses.

Julie--let me know about the private shore excursions for the two days because I am sure Jan and Howie will be interested. They are not too crazy about the crowds on buses. What about MaryAnn and Tom? Any plans? We did a private tour in Rome and it was great. There were six of us and we had so much less walking and saw so much and the price was so reasonable.

I hope Andrew and his family had a wonderful time. We had the same experience in November. We booked an Eastern cruise and the day of the cruise it turned into a modified Western with two stops at Castaway Cay. My DD and her husband said they would like to find some way to live on that island! They had a wonderful time. It was their first cruise and although we had a delighful time on the Mediterranean cruise I don't think I will ever forget this trip. Nothing can compare to having family with you and especially for their first cruise.

Now my son's two boys say I am taking them on the Dream because their B (that is what they called Garry) knew that was going to be the name of the new ship and he was going to take all of us! The youngest one made that announcement in a local Japanese restaurant one night to our dining companions. I might have to start selling myself on the street corner for that trip!

This link should be placed on the 1st page!:thumbsup2

Hey Andrew should have disembarked from his cruise by now. Wonder how it went?

I'm sure he will find a way to post once he and his family settle in at their rental home -- I know they are doing more Disney and also Discovery Cove over the next ten days or so . . .

Barb, could you put the link about Oslo on the front page? Thanks!

Hi Harole Ann --

I have a quote from Anastasia, whom I loved because they don't require any deposit - in fact, you never pay a thing until the second day. I went back and forth when them for a while before getting a personalized itinerary for the two days, at a cost I thought was very reasonable. Other companies with good reputations for private tours in St. P are Denrus and Red October. I will bet MaryAnn and Tom would be interested, unless they feel more comfortable doing St P via DCL.

Hey Laurie, nice to see you here. Hope you have enjoyed your summer so far.
