I've never traveled to Europe so I'm not sure what is a good price.

My DH was checking flight prices for the past few months and I think the best price he found for us (Dulles, VA) was around $700 (plus taxes and fees= $1,000) for round trip.

I think Barb said that was a good price.
Anyone have any suggestions at what is usual ??

cheaptickets doesn't have anything past July 14th yet

I'm trying to get ready:woohoo:

Generally speaking, that would be a good price for summer flights . . . this summer there were some sales that would allow RTs for about $700 (including the taxes and fees) but who can say if that will happen again:confused3

The only ones I've found so far are British Airways out of Dulles. I think those were a little over $1K pp including taxes and fees. I'm waiting on Virgin and United to post their flights for those dates. I may be partial to United so I can pick my seats when I buy and not wait until a couple days before.

Thanks:thumbsup2
Gonna be hard to decide whether to wait or not.

Your grandson sounds terrific:thumbsup2

I'm Laurie:flower3:

Glad you're back:hug:

WELCOME BACK HAROLE ANN!!!!!!

You must post a picture of Princess Jasmine so all our new friends can see how adorable she is! It sure is good to have you back.:lovestruc

So glad to hear from you, Harole Ann!:love::love:

Hey Harole Ann,

You just missed a pirate: run. Better get your good hand ready.........

Julie almost got it, but Robert beat her to it. Andrew is on the Western Caribbean cruise right now. It was supposed to be Eastern but the weather forced a change in the itinerary.

Izzy & JoAnn are no longer going on the cruise, but there are really nice people joining us so we are going to make a ton of new friends and have a great time! If you are staying in London before the cruise, Celestine who lives there, is arranging for a bus to take us over to Dover.

Don't worry, we actually do talk cruise in between all the FLUFF!! :rotfl:

Some things never change. :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Thank you so much for the warm welcome back. I am so sorry to hear that Izzi and JoAnn are not coming with us. Ryan has already heard so many wonderful things about them and all of the rest of our friends from the Mediterranean. It will be so nice to see everyone and meet all of our new friends.

Do we have any 28 year olds in the group? Ryan will be 28 on July 13 so I really want to celebrate his birthday in style on this cruise. He is a wonderful young man and said he would rather do this cruise than buy a house right now. The house was my suggestion! He is very excited about the trip.

We want to come in three days early to sight see. I want to do a day in Paris. Has anyone checked this out?

And now for the one who keeps me going. There is nothing more lonley that being in a house by yourself, but our Princess Jasmine is my lifesaver. She has been certified as a service dog and flies on my lap and she is free, thank goodness! She has made two trips to South Carolina and is about to make her third next month as a surprise for my DD birthday.

DancingAroundTheChristmasTree.jpg

This is her Christmas picture. She dances like this quite a bit and no one ever taught her to do this or to sit up and beg. I guess she just decided it is one way to get a laugh and attention. She has all of my attention now and she had us both wrapped anyway, so her life is now staying as close to me as she can get. I appreciate the attention.

As MaryAnn knows me so well, I am ready to take my glass of wine and head upstairs to bed with the Princess.

Sweet Disney Dreams to all:cloud9:

I've got Sept 4 marked on my calendar to look for RT flights. I seem to remember some silly number like 331 days out, something like that.

We will have a 24 year old with us on the cruise. Sarah will have just finished her second year of law school before this cruise.

WOW, I think you just summed up our thread in a nutshell! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

I know - if the new ship was doing the longer route I'd be all over it, but I'm not sure if it is worth it to head down there for a short cruise! The 14 night out of Venice sounds terrific -- which cruiselines are you looking at for that route?
NCL but nothing is definite yet!
Yes, we have to find a way to check in with Izzi . . .
:grouphug:

Thanx

I feel like the long, lost link for this cruise! It has been months, and I must say it seems even longer to me due to the loss of the love of my life.
I cannot thank so many of you for your cards and gifts that you have sent. They have been so precious to me. I never thought that my life could take a turn like this and my Disney friends have been so wonderful, even ones I have yet to meet!

I know I have a lot of catching up to do, and I will never be able to do it, so I will try my best to keep up with the flow. I really need you.

I did not think I would be taking this cruise after I lost Garry and canceled it, but on Mother's Day my oldest grandson gave me the gift of this cruise and he is coming with me. You are going to love him. Jan and Howie already know him. They were just here with me last weekend and it was delightful. While I was at my dd Lynnise and Diann came to visit for the weekend so I felt like I had two mini Mediterranean Cruise reunions.

Thanks again for everything and I look forward to being a bigger part of participating on the board.
Welcome Back

:goodvibesGood Morning All:goodvibes
You to Barb where ever you are, you have been pretty quiet!

My DH and I will be 27 (almost 28) on this cruise. :goodvibes

Thanks for the trip report Andrew. We are all concerned for you. Glad you are trying to make the best of it. Can't wait to hear more when you return.

Hello everyone - I know I haven't been a participant on this thread - work and life just keeping me busy and haven't had much time to be on the boards lately.

I just wanted to say hello and have a question

What are everyone's plans in St Petersburg. Are you doing a ship excursions, getting your own Visa and going off on your own or doing a private shore excursion?

Hi, Jo!:love::love::love::love: I've already got a request in for a private shore excursion for the two days there . . . that way we get to do exactly what we want to do without being herded around on buses.

Hi Julie
Those were my thoughts exactly. Are you doing a private tour with just your girls or joining in with some others? I have to get my request in soon.

Just me and the girls . . . I think a few others on this thread were thinking of joining together and doing a larger group, though.

Hi everyone. Wow so much has changed since I was on vacation and getting caught up with life back at home.
It's been nice to hear from some who haven't posted in a while.
Sad to hear some are cancelling the cruise, but totally understand that family has to come first.
Congrats to Robert on the pirate:. Yes, I did update the first post in the thread.
Sorry to hear Andrew's cruise was changed, but glad to hear he's having a great time.
Laurie sounds like you had a great time in Brazil, saw a couple of pics on FB that you were tagged in and the bride and groom looked fabulous.

I think that's about it, but if I forgot anyone sorry.

Had a great time in San Fran, the city is a great place to visit. We had wonderfully dry weather the entire week, it was really nice. There were a few times when the fog was thick and it was windy, but that beats the FL storms any day and the heat & humidity that was here in DE. Met up with friends from our '05 Mexican Riveria DCL cruise and it was so much fun to catch up with them, had a nice relaxing appetizer buffet and drinks at the Tonga Room.

I'm not even going to try and catch up with the main boards, probably not worth it anyways.

I have my tour operator booked and we are doing a private tour with our family/friends joining us. Since we were just there last year we want to do some new things that we will enjoy and revisit some places for the first-timers in our group.

I'll have to repost a pic of the Little Mermaid statue, it's saved on my other computer and I didn't save it to my photobucket album. I had posted a while back, probably in the first thread that she would be gone when we sail there :sad1: . But in all honesty, the statue is rather underwhelming and small. I didn't even walk over to her since my feet were hurting when we got back to the ship, but DH & DD walked over and took the pics and both were not impressed with her.
