Barb, we'll be down by you on Thurs. So will JoAnn. Has it been raining more than the usual afternoon T-storm? The weather channel says it has been really hot down there. 92F feels like 102F?????? Yikes. But DH reminded me that I wanted heat as we've been so cool up here in the north that I'd better not complain (but, geez, feels like 102? It's going to be reallllll hard not to complain) :confused3

These aren't the usual t'storms that roll thru here, they are torrential downpours that come out of nowhere with wicked lightning and thunder usually. There have been a lot of people killed by the lightning the last 3 weeks. We definately make sure we are indoors when it's lightning.
It's been 92, but the last couple of days there's been a breeze, unlike when we first came down. It has been bearable to be outside when it's not downpouring.
DD & I went out this afternoon and we were only 15 minutes from the house and the skies were blue and sunny the entire time we were gone. Got back to the house and the streets had huge puddles that weren't there when we left.

Ewwww. There's few things I hate more than 92 degrees plus a poncho!!!!!!:scared1:

Thanks for the update so we'll be prepared. :lovestruc

You are most welcome. I understand that yesterday's rain was not a torrential downpour and there was no lightning. :woohoo:

The forecast for the 18th July 2009 is that a very deep low will be over the North Sea causing considerable rain and bad weather.

Glad its 2009!

Is that really true or are you just messing with us???

Must be exciting to know you are a month away from leaving for your vacation - we are two weeks later than you . . .

Yikes! Hopefully it's more the exception than the rule! Yes, what a shame for the cruisers and vacationers. :headache:

Well, we leave for WDW (and then Magic on Sat.) in about an hour. JoAnn is probably gone by now, her flight is earlier and she is further from the airport. We'll see you on the 26th, Julie!!! It is always so sad to leave the Magic. But seeing you, Helen & Dave, and JoAnn and Ken again (although they will be sick of seeing us by then :lmao:) is something to look forward to!!

Enjoy your vacation Andrew. I think we'll be returning home while you are leaving for the states.

I know you two and JoAnn and Ken will have a great time, and we will see you at Wicked on the 26th!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Been resting today, have a bit of ''summer cold'' and no not that its not H1N1! No fever.

The storm refered to above might hit 24 hours early now!

I want to personally thank JoAnn and Maryann for coming down today and keeping the rain away. :woohoo: It was nice to see a day without rain, lightning and thunder for a change.

Please advise how I get added to your group. We have signed up the the July 18th Baltic.

WELCOME ABOARD:cheer2::cheer2:

No the one year mark is not too late;)
This next year will be loads of fun with planning and stuff:woohoo:

I tried posting from the Wonder but only my post to Mike went through:confused3
Because of the Disney "stars" we were unable to get an upgrade to a cat 3:sad2:
We managed with the cat 11 that we had (7625) -nice location :goodvibes
Wouldn't want it for when we have the kids, but it was fine for 2 adults for 4 days.
Pikey was promoted from Bingo to Match your Mate:cool1:
We won $100 playing bingo:woohoo:
Had fun on the segway tours in Nassau:banana:
Missed our kids horribly:guilty:
Now Darren is umpiring a baseball tournament in Florida and I am back home with the kids.

I have to get my DS (Andrew) ready for his trip to Italy. He leaves on Monday. I have the notarized letter (signed by both DH and I) giving my friend permission to take him to Italy and authorize medical treatment.
Now I have to pack and buy any things he might need.

My friend will hold most of his money, but I'm not should if I should bother with travelers checks:confused3

He has a passport. Do I need to send a copy of his birth certificate too?
I have copies of our medical insurance card.
Of course forgot trip insurance:guilty:
We turned on international calling on our cell phones for the PC repo so that is done.

I have to buy him new sneakers as his old ones are falling apart.

What is the best way to keep in touch with him? I'm assuming texting:confused3

Those of you that have traveled to Italy (or have let your teens go without you on European trips)- do you have any recommendations:confused3

I'm only panicking a little:rolleyes1

Since he has a passport, no birth certificate is needed. I would recommend a color copy of the passport kept in a different place (his suitcase, your friend's suitcase, etc.) than the actual passport since it would be much easier for the state dept. to issue him a new one that way if the passport was lost or stolen.

Don't bother with traveler's checks - no one will accept them!

My biggest advice is to let him contact you rather than the other way around, and not to panic if you don't hear from him all the time. When my oldest had just turned 15, she went for a summer program in Spain and I got occasional emails, but that was it.
