Weather broke this weekend we were into the 50's, colder today but warmer the rest of the week! Now back to you Chet!

Izzi, your BAFTA's don't get much press over here. I was halfway wondering what they were myself, but thought it had to do with film and television.

OMG you yanks so insular looking ...... if it ain't american it don't count uh !!!

The BAFTAs are a HUGE precurser to the Oscars, so having said that we can pretty much guarantee that Slumdog Millionare will win everything, Kate Winslet Best Actress and Micky Rourke Best Actor

Forecast here is for another heavy snow storm tonight/tomorrow morning. Hopefully it will stay north of London. It's been fairly mild today highs of 5C but it hasn't stopped raining since about 4am this morning

You have to remember it's the American press that thinks this, not all of us. I'd rather hear about the awards overseas and more upbeat things, than all the depressing stuff that us shoved down our throats all the time.

My DS15 is also in marching band, also clarinet. Boy, I don't think he ever worked so hard in his life as he did in marching band.
Is Kara the one in marching band ?

She is done with hs marching band - she did 4 years 3 years with the clarinet and her last ear she switched to the baritone as the band didn't have enough low brass for their show. She said she would give it a ty and learned to play by ear

She loved marching band and wouldn't have given it up for anything

It is lots of hard work - they start practicing right after July 4th 4 days of week and then go away for a week to a local college and then once school starts practice 2 nights a week. Plus all the games and then band compeititions every weekend right through end of October/early November depending on when their state meet was

Thank you. As a matter of fact, due to our DCL friends and some things Tara learned while living in Germany & London, we are indeed very insular. It's not our fault, I think it's our news coverage. It's very lacking in foreign affairs. With apologies.........
