Now I'm very, very excited. Thanks.JD for you!
Now to settle a question we all have - where are they built?
We've been past the Land Rover facility in Solihull. Would like to go there sometime if possible.
Current Mini's are assembled in Cowley, Oxford which is the former Rover plant (with a very nice makeover). The panels are pressed in Swindon, Wiltshire and the petrol engines are assembled in Hams Hall, Birmingham. They call this the 'Mini Production Triangle'.
You can do tours of the Mini plant as a member of the public, book via the web cost is £12 over 14 years old only or I may be able to arrange via my BMW contacts if you ever have the time on a trip here. You also get to see the museum with the Austin Powers mini, a mini designed by Michael Caines daughter for the Italian Job Anniversary and a mini covered in cow hide

Hope that helps
Paul
