7/13/13 ~~ Eastern Mediterranean Mouseketeers!

........

Just a comment, we are going on the 28 May Alaska cruise. The FE coordinator is putting this type of information (e.g., favorite color, favorite Disney character/song/movie) in her spreadsheet so people have gift ideas. I know it’s extra work but thought I would pass it along in case Dylan’s mom wanted to do the same.......

How about I post a link to each of the Questions of the Week in post 4 so that anyone interested can find where to locate the answers. That should be a little easier than Bev keeping track of it on a FE spreadsheet (especially since some people might not be doing the FE). Would that work?

It would be no problem for me to add a few more columns to the FE list......maybe just a couple spots for favorites, one for color & people can fill in whatever they want as far as a lot of specifics.

And this would really come in handy if we decide to do Secret Mickey!!! :hippie:

Oh......anyone interested in SM??? :rotfl: I would be happy to set that up too. It's just like secret Santa & you get one person assigned to you to give a few little personal treats to during the cruise, and then usually at the end there is a get-together to find out who is whose...sometimes that is the time for a little bit larger gift, but everyone tries to keep it down to $25 or so total. Well, just a thought...since that's an area where we need to know colors & fave characters & stuff. :thumbsup2
.

My favorite Disney related movie is the Rogers and Hammerstein's version of Cinderella starring Leslie Ann Warren. I loved watching it on television every year when I was a child. I still can envision her singing "in my own little corner in my own little chair."

I would love to participate in the Secret Mickey. I did that for the Panama cruise for the first time last year and I loved it. The person who organized ours asked for 4-5 gifts total and spend $25-$30 total, and the last gift could be a little more special or bigger than the first few gifts (but still $25-$30 total including the big gift). If it helps you with setup, I found the questions she asked in setting it up:

Name
DisBoard Name
Gender
Cabin Number
Favorite Character
Favorite Drink
Hobby (Hobbies)
Favorite Color
Favorite Reading/author
Allergies
Sports Info
Favorite Food
Favorite Candy
Favorite music
Wish List (things you would LOVE to receive)
Anything else you'd like us to know:

So just for kicks I did an informal calculation of the number of people 18 years and younger.
Right now on our Roll Call we have 54, 27 girls and 27 boys.

2. 1 girl
3. 1 boy
4.1 girl, 1 boy
5. 0
6. 0
7. 2 boys
8. 3 girls, 1 boy
9. 4 girls, 1 boy
10. 2 girls 1 boy
11. 1 girl, 4 boys
12. 0 girls 5 boys
13. 6 girls, 1 boy
14. 2 girls, 3 boys
15. 2 girls, 2 boys
16. 3 girls, 4 boys
17. 1 girl, 0 boys
18. 1 girl, 1 boy

Okay, what if I do this....I will expand the FE list columns to include a few more options, and then add a column for everyone to indicate what they are participating in? There will be one for FE and one for SM, or both. That way we will only need to compile the information one time. :cool1:

I would ask everyone to please go to the link & fill in your own information so that it is up to date, and more importantly so that I don't miss anything!

And again, I'm asking that those who have already signed up for FEs, please check that your information is complete, correct, and fill in any blanks. :thumbsup2

I'll update the spreadsheet a bit later today. It can be found in post #4, and I'll post it again here when it's updated. Thanks for all of the suggestions, everyone. I've done a lot of SM's (doing a SM for another cruise now).... & it's a blast!

Wow, Beth, lots of kids on this one....how fun!

I'm a real computer dunce! I tried enter my info on the spread sheet but I can't get it out of "view only" mode. Spreadsheets have to be my biggest enemy!! We would participate in "all" & everything else is correct :)

Sorry I haven't been around...our April cruise is coming up so fast plus a gazillion other things are going on at home, school etc it's been insane!

We've never done the Secret Mickey...sounds like fun!!

27 boys & 27 girls, that's funny how they worked out even so far! It'll be interesting to see who "wins" in the end. We all know how kids are ;) Should we start taking bets now??

@Bev: I'm also having problems getting out of "view" and inputting info on the spreadsheet. It looks like you have to sign in to be able to edit. Or am I missing something?

So sorry - I wonder if it's because I'm working on it?? I'll get it worked out & re-post in an hour or so.....nothing like asking you to add to the spreadsheet & having you locked out!!!! :lmao:

Stay tuned............
.

Hmm. Looked at the informal list of kids and I'm not sure you have mine...3 boys who will be 11 (turning 12 on the last day of the cruise), boy 14 and boy 17!

@Bev -- it works! I modified the language in post four to include the Secret Mickeys. :)
Beth

Oh thanks for letting me know!! I realized i had forgotten to add the dining times (sometimes you want to deliver when you know someone's gone :cool1:), so everyone can update that, and I'll update with the info I have for others later today too.

I'm going to set the doc preferences to allow the left hand column (with names) to move with you on your screen when you scroll to the right. That should make it easier to line up all the items in a row for everyone, given all these columns.

Guess it's a good thing we started early after all - time to work out all these kinks.....and it can be a good working document if we end up adding other things, like maybe a candy exchange.....:rolleyes1

Yup, I messed up because we definitely have a couple of 17 year olds (1 boy and 1 girl so far) who are in our Disfamily. I never was good at math!

Uh oh. Do I dare ask -- what's a candy exchange?

All this talk about Fish Extenders, Secret Mickeys and now a candy exchange... you've got us excited! We've never done an FE, but after reading all the great posts, count us in.

Please remove us from your Meet & Greet. Bruce and I have cancelled and booked the June 3,2013 Alaskan Cruise. This would have been our 3rd Disney Med cruise and we decided to do something different, also cheaper. We'll miss our son, Cousin Orville and his family but will enjoy Alaska. We lived in Anchorage for 3 years and have wanted to go back someday. Have a great time in the Med !!

Looks like we will be changing to the June 15 sailing, so please remove us from the roll call. Thanks for all of the info.
