Our two kids are now 6 and 4 and I don't use a pushchair for either of them anymore (and they are used to a fair bit of walking up hills, etc) HOWEVER I expect while we're at DLP we'll be doing far more walking over the course of the 3 full days than they are used to. Will we need to take a buggy, or will it be OK to just schedule lots of coffee/ice-cream stops :cool1:????

Thanks in advance :worship:

Think it really depends on the child, my 4 year old DS ended up taking it in turns with his little brother last year or my husband carried him on and off, it can be hard work for their little legs, so maybe take one 'just in-case'........not sure how much this will help :rotfl2: but i hope you have a great time! :goodvibes

I would bring one
we hired one during the 2nd part of the day, for our son who was 4 / 5 at the time
he sat in it and rested on / off as was shattered by this point! as did lots of walking / queuing during the morning

also good to hang things on etc!

Thanks so much... good to know :thumbsup2

Really don't want to have to spend the kids souvenir money on buggy hire :rotfl2:

Mine are 6.5 and 4, and I took the buggy. It got a lot of use and I'm very glad I took it! It hurts my back if I try to carry either of them for more than about 30 seconds ;)

The first time we went, my two had just turned 4 and we easily managed to get around without a buggy for the 5 days we were there. My son had been quite ill for a fortnight just before we went and we had thought about buying a single buggy to take with us, but we were glad that we didn't waste our money because there was no need.

We used a buggy when our son was 4 and were glad we did. It was fab when he legs got tired.

would also depend on where you are staying - I went with 3 yr old and 6 yr old. We didn't use a buggy, but we were at Disneyland Hotel, so when things got too hectic we just went back to the room for a rest. Otherwise probably would have got one. if you hire, make sure you make it known as yours - tie something on it maybe - as we saw a few people just taking any they came across. they do all look the same if you hire them!

I would definately bring a buggy. If you rent theres a €70 cash deposit/ copy of credit card.
It was invaluable having the buggy for our 4 year old as she was bet down with the walking and even slept on and off over our trip.
Have a great time!!

A buggy might give your kids a bit of a rest which might help reduce disney related meltdowns that a lot of kids have at DLP. Our little girls have always loved walking but last time we went we ended up hiring a buggy as we only took one for the youngest. Our oldest had been unusally meltdown proned up til that point and was much more her normal self once we had the buggy.

What we have done for trips is buy a stroller from the local nearly new sale it was only 5 pounds and we always take that places as if it got stolen or broken it wouldn't matter. It saves on hire although depending on how you are travelling that might not be an option.

we will be taking the buggy for our daughter who will have just turned 5, i also find it usefull as a zimma frame for me at the end of the day :lmao:

Hi we took one for dd who turned 4 while we were there last November, I'm so glad we did as she got so tired especially at night and it meant we could walk back to the Cheyenne with her in the buggy instead of having to try and get on the "bendy bus" as she would be too tired to walk. I will definetly be taking it in July too for her. Also we can load it up when she is not in it of all my purchases (and there is usually a lot:rotfl2:)

I took my two girls for the first time when they were 6 and 4 and didnt take a buggy - would have been one more thing for me to look after as I was on my own with them. We were fine without it for the 3 days we were there and walked back and forth to Sequoia Lodge with no problems.

When my DD was 4 I took one - for safety reasons! We went in the summer and the crowds were really dense after fireworks. It was just me and the two kids (grandparents where laying unconscious and snoring somewhere lol) so I just put her in the buggy on the way out to keep her from getting lost! Otherwise, i'd padlock the buggy to a post in the day, only getting it if I needed to get somewhere quick :-) (and as mentioned, we could walk back to the hotel while she rested after a very long day) :goodvibes

We took our buggy for our two and a half year old and found that he preferred walking while our four and a half year old enjoyed resting in it. It was very useful for him to sleep in it though while we still looked around. We took a padlock to lock it up but we actually found we never needed to use it.
