6x6 scrapbook for autograph book?

Thank you. I found the Bazzill paper at Recollections last night. There's a store about 30 minutes away from us. I bought 12x12 but I'm having problems printing it out because I keep getting messages that the margins aren't right or the image is too big. I cut the paper down to 8 1/2 x 12 and I can get 2 images on a page if I do that. If I use the smaller size paper, I'm going to need to buy more. Luckily, I can ask my daughter to pick me up some at the Recollections near here cause she'll be meeting us at my parents tonight. I need to get these printed by tomorrow night since we leave on Friday.

I couldn't decide about putting Daniel's or Joey's 1st trip to Disney World on the pages....I know we won't be getting every autograph that I'm printing and with that written on it can't use the cards again. Don't know why I'm getting thrifty when we're spending over $3000 on the vacation :rotfl:
But, I'm glad I did put it there. I figure it might help the characters interact with them differently.

Try printing a test sheet... when my computer says, "printing set outside margins..." it ends up coming out just the way I wanted. So, cut a piece of plain printer paper the same size and print it out in grayscale (so you don't waste the color ink).

You will be hooked on Bazzill. It is such wonderful paper!

I tried printing on a 6x6 page and it didn't work. I will have to play with it some other time. For now, I'm going to have to waste paper and do a little cropping. Me and DH love the Bazzill paper - what a difference! Thank you.

I think I made too many pages. Cause these books are HEAVY!

Glad you love the Bazzill. It is so wonderful.

Just how many pages do you have? I could only get so many page protectors in the binders, so I am taking a small box of extra pages, just in case.

(We are talking way too many pages, like 100 for each child. Just in case)

As of right now, they have between 76-82 depending on the kid. The younger one has more because he wanted characters from some of the younger children shows such as Kim Possible, Ron Stoppable, etc. I also plan on taking blank pages.

DH and I talked about it this morning. Here's the plan --
punching a hole in the upper corner of the pages and attach them to a ring. Every evening, we're going to remove the pages that have been signed. This way, the "book" will get smaller as the week progresses and the pages will be protected from little, dirty fingers. I'll crop the pages when I make up the scrapbook and put some scrapbook paper behind them. Maybe, I'll do a bigger scrapbook then originally planned if it is too thick when I have pictures on the pages as well.

Hole punching in the corner is a fabulous idea...

My kids' 6x6 albums are HEEEEEAAAVVY, too! The brand of ours is Canson. It's great quality, but after adding cardstock over each side of every page, it's even heavier and bulky. It feels nice in the hand, but I think it's going to be quite heavy for my little day bag!

I had a friend as me to make her a pair for her daughters. I suggested NOT adding cardstock, but simply signing the white pages. The white pages alone are very nice weight. She is not a scrapbooker, so she really just wanted the girls to be able to have signatures in it.

Oh, and the books have 20 pages... so it could hold 40 signatures. If we go over that, I will have blank cardstock for them to sign on a small clipboard. I can buy another book and simply take the pages out for this album. I hope we don't go over the 40 signatures, b/c I wanted to be able to add pictures, too!

I did these two for a friend's daughters.... I really love the way they look after adding the ribbon! She doesn't plan to take them apart, so I tied all the ribbons now. I also didn't add the cardstock (much easier to carry around!)...

We just got back last night (sob!) and we saw 44 different characters! Of those 44, we saw 12 characters twice (character meals) and 4 characters three times (Mickey, Pluto, Belle and Jasmine.)

I ended up just removing our pages from the protectors and carrying them around with me in a plastic carrier.

Those books are beautiful!

Thank you for the heads up on the # of characters!! Yikes! I ended up making altered mini-clipboards for my kids. I figured, I can take the pages out if they get too heavy. I also packed some extra pages incase we went over the 40 sigs...

I'm sorry that you're so bummed about it being over already... I already feel that dread and I don't leave for another 5 days! I know I'll be sobbing as we pull away... :guilty:

Thanks for the great comments!

I am doing better today. We took about 2300 pics and had another 140 on the photo pass cd, so I will be reliving our memories for quite some time. I need to do our albums, plus minis for the grandmas. I may be done by our next visit in a couple of years! :)

I highly recommend the photo pass, btw. We used it mainly for family photos in front of all the icons (castle, Space Ship Earth, Tower of Terror) except in AK because we couldn't find one photographer.

You are going to have a blast!!! Let us know how many characters you find!

We just got home a few hours ago. I haven't had time to count how many autographs the boys got but they got a lot. A lot of extra interaction because of their personalized pages too which made them and me feel extra special.

I can't wait to look at my photopass stuff. Maybe later, once we eat some dinner and get some more laundry going. (isn't coming home a lot of fun :sad2: )

Now, I'll get to relive the vacation when I start scrapbooking it all. We need to add some stuff to our daily recaps that we tried to do everynight so I'll have a lot of that written down for when I scrap it all.

Just getting thru my 239 emails now.

Welcome back Sherri!

I saw someone in MGM who had used some of your ideas and the pages were great!

We also had great interaction with the personalized pages. Unfortunately, we saw a few characters that we had no pages for (Darth Vader, Storm Trooper, Daisy Duck, etc) because we didn't know that the first two existed and were told that DD was extremely rare. Oh, well!

Once I scrap everything (it should take a least a year), I am going to start work on the next pages... And we haven't even decided when we are going back!

My son will lose it if he sees Darth Vader or a Storm Trooper! OMG. I will have to really look into catching them!

I'm really looking forward to seeing yours all done! I personalized a couple of pages for characters I'd know we'd see (Mickey, Minnie, Ariel, a couple other princesses). I didn't want to use up a page personalizing for a character we MAY not catch!

For those of you that caught 40+ characters, were you chasing them all day long? I'm hoping to avoid doing that with the ADR's I made, but if that's what's exciting to my kids, we'll be doing it!

3 more days. I don't know if I'm going to make it to then!!

Oh, gosh, no! We had Breakfastasaurus, 2 Pooh Breakfasts, Breakfast at the Castle, Dinner at the Castle and Princess Storybook Breakfast at Akershus. (Love the Dining Plan!)

There were at least four characters at everything but the castle dinner, so that gave us 14 or more right there. When we went to see Daisy and Chip and Dale, the Tweedles were there, so there we got five more. We had seen Belle at two breakfasts, but when we found out about the Beast, we just had to wait. Prince Eric arrived with Ariel just before our turn and we just happened to see Jose Carioca outside of Mexico.

We rarely stood in line more than 15 minutes, but there were some must-haves, Darth being one. We didn't even know he was going to appear. It was pure luck. He only did shows twice that day and we were lucky to get the next one.

I have the Disney Rewards Visa, so we got a special visit with Mickey and Pluto for as long as we wanted. It was so worth it!

That's how we got so many characters, and if there had been fewer people, we would have had more! :wizard:

That's encouraging, b/c I really don't want to spend the bulk of my vacation getting signatures, but I know my kids will want as many as possible!

I really really hope I can find Darth!

I'm jealous about Darth. DS11 would've gone crazy! We were hoping we would meet him cause our DSIL is Star Wars crazy. We did get a startrooper though. I didn't have any pages for them.

We rarely waited more than 10-15 min. for our autographs. If it was longer than that, I talked the boys out of waiting. They thoroughly enjoyed getting autographs and meeting the characters.

Character Connection at Epcot was a great spot early in the morning cause it was empty then. We only had 2-3 people ahead of us going through the line. We didn't do the Visa meet and greet cause we were back in World Showcase by the time it opened.

we're all talking about next time as well. Tonight, we finished writing up our daily summaries that we tried to do every night. Now, when DS6 finishes his homework, the boys want to watch the new planning video. Here we go again!

Sherri,

I am sorry you missed Darth. DS was floating. :darth:

Our kids have already informed us that we are returning in a couple of years AND that we are returning to CSR.
