6th Annual Christmas Thread

From Mom and Dad: a red Gymboree cardigan and hairbow and tights, a book each, socks/underwear, ( something to wear, read, need) and for "want" probably a travel DVD player and a few new DVDs.

Okay, so I think I need to go back to bed. I originally read that as "FOR Mom and Dad" and couldn't figure out why you would buy your parents hair bows and tights. Ugh! I hope this isn't a sign as to how this day is going to go!

Hey ladies!! I have not been on the internet all weekend! Can you believe it?! LOL...it wasn't by choice...our service was out~no cable, land line, or internet since Friday!!!!!!!
Turns out a breaker in the box was out:rotfl2:
We could have fixed it but I guess the break was good for us!
I see y'all have been busy!!!! Way to go!

I like my internet! I couldn't handle a weekend without it. I might start twitching! :rotfl2:

Gonna head to Hallmark today. Seems they have quite a bit of Disney Christmas stuff out this year. I am only doing a small tree and a wreath since it is just me now and I will be in Indiana for the actual holiday.

I took advantage of free shipping at disneystore.com today (code FREESHIP). I preordered Planes for DS12 and ordered a small stuffed Perry for DS9's stocking. I had money left on a rewards card so I spent about $3 total :cool1:

Nice!!
:thumbsup2

Just got my DD some cute Minnie sleepers for the winter. I also got my youngest sis some Brave stuff that she loves.

How many of you are from New York, or have spent Christmas holiday there? I think 2 out of 3 of the kids would love...the 3rd one would need to be bribed!:rotfl2: Or just convinced that there are things for this kid to enjoy.... I am totally STUMPED for all 3 this year!! I have said it before to you guys that I think a trip would be great! DS 17 will be 18 at the first part of December and this could roll over for part of his bday too~ he doesn't have a clue what he wants for birthday or Christmas...
They have never wanted lots and lots of stuff...usually more LEGOS, or American Girl stuff, or something like that...but never a crazy amount~ and then we will only get a few things off the list...so.... I have to crack down and have a serious talk with DH about it...TONIGHT! I would be so excited to travel for the holiday with the kids! I know the airports get crazy around that time, but to go somewhere fun would be a blast! I am not leaning toward Colorado, because we have been there already...not in December, but if there is somewhere else that we could go I would want that as a first option... so..fire away and give me pros and cons of NY at Christmas time~~be honest,.. I have no Idea!

So, all but a couple things boxed (4 boxes worth). I need to get 3 gift bags and then it is time to wrap!

IME, New York is a mob scene in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Not sure if you want to be away over the holidays, but if you wait until Christmas Eve, the city quiets down a lot the week following Christmas (right before the madness returns for NYE). And the decorations are still up!

Yes, we were thinking of being somewhere for the week of Christmas...thanks!!

I officially started my Christmas shopping! I ordered DD6 her first American Girl doll- Marie Grace with second outfit and book for $50! The deal is on the AG facebook page if anyone is interested. :thumbsup2 I still have no idea what to get DS or anyone else on my list but at least I can say I started my shopping for the season! ;)

Hey!!! thats a good deal!! Have you been to NY?

I have but it's been a really long time. I think Jason and I were dating when we went the last time. We've been married for 12 years so yeah, it's been a while. :rolleyes1

Well..yeah,,that's a long time! LOL!! I am seriously considering it~

Thanks for that suggestion, I just preordered Planes too! I see it will come with free lithographs and $20 off a $40 order placed 11/20-12/2 (which I will use to order another Christmas gift). Not a bad deal with free shipping too!

Officially began my Christmas shopping today, too, with the AG Marie-Grace doll $50 deal. Also took advantage of the 40% off and free shipping on the Disney Store site and picked up the Merida archery set DD has been asking for for $13.xx.

New York is MAGICAL during the holidays. The Rockettes show after Christmas Day and so do the special Broadway shows that pop up around the holidays. (I'm not sure if there's any this year-- in the past, there's been Elf, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and many more). If your DD still loves AG, you have to take her to the store. I could spend weeks just walking around, looking at the windows (Macy's & Saks & the designer stores on 5th Ave. are a sight to be seen), eating, and shopping. It's definitely not a "budget" vacation, though!
Let me know if you have any more specific questions-- we live right outside the city and I worked there for a few years.
