Is that allowed? DH will take both our boys, age 6 and 3. Can he sit with the 3 yr old and the 6 yr old sit alone either in front of or behind them? Or will DH have to go through the line twice?

A child must be 7 to ride without another person (who must be 14 or older) with them.

Thanks. I saw that... Just wasn't clear what "with them" meant. So the person over 14 has to physically be in the same seat? Which would mean DH can't take them both on at the same time?

He should be able to ride with both children at the same time. 3 should be able to fit.

We have sat one adult 2 kids together. Believe it or not, the Barnstormer is a faster coaster than Thunder Mountain. I wouldn't feel safe with 6yo alone in seat, even if it was allowed. Pretty strong G forces.

I would never seat a child that young alone on something they could fall or climb out of.

When I went they would not allow 3 to a seat. I would not have a problem with my six year old riding alone, but CM will ask kid's age. Must be 7 to ride alone - I would not want to my kid to lie. You should be able to get rider swap for DH to go twice - once with each kid.

Thanks for all the replies... Guess we'll figure it out once we're there since there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer. :)

It would not bother me in the least for him to sit alone. He's an extremely conscientious child, and has ridden kiddie coasters (as fast as barnstormer) on his own plenty of times.

When we've had odd numbers in our party, a couple of times I have sat with someone's child so they could ride. I guess I look like a mom and not a creepyLOL. My DD13 freaks out in single rider if they try to seat her with a man (that's good as far as I'm concerned--mom of a new teen!) and always try's to scope out a teen or mom to try to sit with ("sir, you may go ahead of me..." y'know). So maybe you can find someone who would do that.

I have a short 9 year old. In August on both Barnstormer and Dumbo the CMs very pointedly asked her (while ignoring me) how old she was, at 2 separate spots in the line. I would be prepared to have an issue boarding Barnstormer together. I was always told it is 7 years old. Barnstormer has 2 seats side by side. Dumbo is not an issue because it is a bench seat that will accommodate 3.

I was thinking maybe your 2 kids could sit in a seat and DH right behind them? I don't know if that would be allowed though.

Same here. One of my twins was asleep when we wanted to ride in the Spring so it was just me and a 2 year old and 5 year old and she said only 2 to a row and that ODS was not big enough to ride in a seat in front or behind us so we had to get a rider swap pass and switch off.

This is pretty much what I was expecting. Thanks.

It used to be that sitting in the seat right behind or in front of the adult counted as "with." Then they changed it to having to sit in the same ride vehicle in HM and TSM because you can't see people in adjacent cars. Now it means in the same car, and it does make it difficult for families with a lot of little ones. When somebody has to watch the baby too small to ride and there is more than one child tall enough but under 7, it gets tricky.

We'll have 6 kids ages 12 and under on our next trip. I can't wait until the oldest is 14 and old enough to be the "adult" who sits with a young child. I'm considering taking an older teenage girl with us on our next trip so that we can have an extra set of hands for this exact situation.

About two years ago I rode Barnstormer with my 2-year-old and 5-year-old. I was in a row with the 2-year-old, and the 5-year-old was in the row in front of us by himself.

This was my experience. It was me, and a 6 and 7 year old. The 7 year old had no issues riding by himself so it wasn't an issue. No way my 6 year old would have ridden by herself... but that is just her!
