6 Year Old Trapped in a Balloon. Boy Found Alive - Hiding at Home!

Some of these reporters questions when interviewing friends and neighbors just make me SO uncomfortable and angry. Empty space would be much better than listening to some of these jerks.

A reporter was interviewing the little boys friend, "So what do you hope will be the outcome?" "Do you hope it will be good news?" The little boy says his very jumpy over this, "well what do you mean jumpy?" "Are you nervous?" OMG!

I just saw that too on CNN....wth is the matter with these people? Do they think the kid is excited that his friend is missing? I mean really? the one lady sounded kind of "giddy" when she was asking some of the questions.....

why the heck are the reporters interviewing little boys that are friends at a time like this not to mention asking such a question. And where the heck are the parents of the kids that the reporter is asking such questions.. Anything for a news report

It is now a ground search in a 2-3 mile area in and around Platteville. The area is rugged, remote and full of scrub, so will be very difficult to spot anything - news calling it a worse case scenario.

They are organizing a foot and atv search. Haven't determined if it is a rescue or recovery search yet. Other concern is that the temps are going to drop into the low 30's tonight.

Deputy has been interviewed and he is 100% certain he saw something fell.

They are saying that the first report came into authorities at 11:30 this morning. So, that means it has easily been been about four hours. I hate to say it, but I don't know of many 6 year olds that would stay hiding for that long. A little kid would get tired and want to be home. Maybe I'm wrong, but I just don't think he is hiding.

Just saw the picture with the object falling-impossible to discern the object.


TWC is saying the balloon did ascend to 10,000 feet. Balloon wasn't made to be airborne,so likely it lost helium at the different air pressure and that is what caused it to descend.

I didn't catch how high it was when the deputy thinks he saw something.

However, a neighbor just sent in a video he took of the balloon going up. He was in the park and took video of it (I think it was his cell phone). The balloon went up and high extremely quickly and within a matter of seconds it was out of sight.

Flight for Life is at the search area, so hopefully the powers to be have some hope that he is still alive.

The Larimer county sheriff is on right now:

reverse 911 has been activated for neighbors to go out and look for him - searching in a local park
home to home search is in progress in his neighborhood
posse has been called in
search and rescue has been called in
police on site (search area)
military is on site
requests for help from the news helicopters.
They will be searching until dark or later if they have lights.

Reporting: It was thought to have ascended 10,000 ft, but Denver is already at 5,000 feet, so the balloon was actually at 15,000 ft.

Probably about 2 hours or so.

6 where I am at and still daylight, but I'm on the extreme East Coast.
