6 Year Old Trapped in a Balloon. Boy Found Alive - Hiding at Home!

Right now the Weather Channel - of all things - is showing the photo that someone took that shows something falling from the balloon.. Can't tell what it is, but all things considered, this "story" is getting mighty strange..
I remember that family and they were really wild and the boys were well...had no discipline. They were very hyper and were good at not telling the truth and the Dad and mom were like 5 year olds. And they talked about this balloon on the show hoping to make it big enough to carry them.

I hope to GOD that the little boy did not go in it. This is the time you are hoping that the boys are lying. Idiot parents having something like this in there yard to crawl into blown up. I can see the parents talking to the boys about how cool it would be to crawl inside and take off....

They keep mentioning that the boy is most likely hiding because he is in trouble and scarred like little boys would do ....but this family believed in no punishment at all. So there for this little boy would not hide at all.....he would just laugh in his parents face....no kidding.

They also keep talking about a hoax.....personally I can see the parents sending it off themselves to see if it would fly in addition to getting it seen on the news and his accomplishments....and telling the boys to take the blame. He could not brag enough about what he was inventing.

So both could easily fit this family.....what a shame.

DS who is 12 said "Mom tells ya how the family is that when the boy took off in the balloon the brothers were on the roof with a camera video tapping it instead of running in the house screaming that their brother is flying away...:sad2:

this was one crazy family and like I said I would not put it past the dad at least to see if it would fly and start this whole thing in motion. He was obsessed with the prototype of this balloon.

Did they say why they called the news first??? :confused3 Could you just imagine if you thought that your child was in that thing:eek::eek::eek: or fallen out. I was terrified that why they were showing it that if he was in it that he would fall out.
Do you know this family personally?

Or are your insights to their parenting style and what the father would do based solely on what you saw on a reality show, a reality show that is well known to edit for sensationalism and to portray families as total wackos?

I know a poster says they were undisciplined boys, but I'm sure he realizes how important this was to his dad and he probably got scared.

Let's hope that's what happened.

the problem is that the boys on the show showed that they don't care what their parents think about anything. The boys like there dad and mom were very self centered.

They also had no fear of anything....they were allowed to always do as they pleased. No matter what. They always slept in there clothes just in case of a storm and the family would go out in the worse weather chasing storms together.

This is why I am having trouble wrapping my brain around the "He's hidding and scarred".........The news is making the family sound as if they are a normal family and parents that hold there boys accountable......but for this family there was never any accountability at all.

On the other hand I can see him crawling inside also and his brothers sending him on his way and running on the roof to video tape it.

This is not to say that the parents if not a hoax are scarred to death. They did love there boys.....and that is why they said they let them do as they wish.

I agree that the balloon looks much too small to carry a boy *and* a basket.

Flying off I couldn't see the size, but as soon as it landed and the rescuers ran towards it it just seemed too small. I was shocked at how small it looked.

Very strange story, indeed. I just hope and pray that little boy is alive and safe!

Some guy on CNN said a balloon that size could lift 120 pounds.

I am going by what I watched of course. However even with the editing you can still see how the parents were with there kids. They were very proud of there boys and also in the fact that they did not discipline them at all. And they were very wild.

However does this mean that there parenting is why this happened or that the boy is not scarred somewhere or the parents did not set this up....of course not......I am adding what was seen. And watching that show you can edit so much but what you cant edit is the personality of the people on that show. JMO of course.

The balloon expert on the station I was watching made it sound like the balloon had more than enough lift to carry a small boy. I hope not!

Well, I don't know anything about balloons, it was just how I perceived it and obviously I was wrong. I'm surprised that such a small and flilmsy looking thing can lift so much weight

Local news reporting that the basket was indeed still attached, but damage.

They are not looking for the basket as reported earlier.

Sadly, the damage may indicate that he may have fallen out. They are now reporting that what the deputy saw was not the basket falling, but probably Falcon.

:sad2:

Where are you hearing this?

Flight for Life and Colorado National Guard helicopters are searching in the area of Platteville, closer to the home, where it is believed that Falcon fell out.

Some of these reporters questions when interviewing friends and neighbors just make me SO uncomfortable and angry. Empty space would be much better than listening to some of these jerks.

A reporter was interviewing the little boys friend, "So what do you hope will be the outcome?" "Do you hope it will be good news?" The little boy says his very jumpy over this, "well what do you mean jumpy?" "Are you nervous?" OMG!

I wanted to ring her neck--seriously.

In her....extremely subtle defense....I'm not sure it sunk into some of these dimwits minds--that this was something serious. Like they expected him to pop out from behind a bush or something.
