6 year old stamina?

We always get a double stroller, thought we only have one child, she can lay out and sleep if she wants to and we can put other things in the extra room. I cannot imagine doing it without the stroller. BTW I have been told you can purchase the stroller up front in some sort of package, for the whole trip, it was said to cut the price just a bit. The best part is no waiting in long stroller lines, the pay side, you just go to the CM and pick it up with the pre paid stub. I need to find out more info on this!

In general we found that what works for us is to not take a mid-day break, but instead leave a little earlier that we otherwise would and then head back tot he resort and go to bed early. That way we aren't wasting time with transportation to and from the parks. We've taken mid-day breaks before and if we're going to be out late it worked for us to do that, but not when the parks close early.

I was surprised at how well my 7 year old niece managed at WDW. We were there in June, so it was hot and crowded but she did great. We were prepared to rent a stroller if needed, but we didn't have to. She is fairly small for her age, but her little legs kept up with 5 adults!

This was her first trip (and my inlaws) but my DH and I have been many times. That helped a lot because we didn't feel the need to do everything. We had a pretty good idea of what they would like and not like and we had good knowledge of when to do certain rides/shows based on crowds and such. We would also use a runner to go get fast passes, which helped save her from unneccessary walking.

We took an afternoon break every day, even if it was just for an hour or two. We stayed on site, so that helped. Also, since it was the summer, the parks were open later so we did the parks morning and evening and spent the afternoon at the resort. We would use the pool for a little. But be careful of this, because spending all afternoon in the sun at the pool can be just as draining as being in the parks. We usually spent some time at the pool and then we made her rest in the room for awhile. She would either watch a movie or tv. She only ended up taking a nap one day towards the end of the trip. We also usually had one ADR a day for a sit down meal. This was also a great way to get at least an hour of rest in air conditioning.

Just follow the lead of you kid. She may do great for the first day or two but it will start to wear on her after awhile. I know how tired I get as an adult, so I can only imagine what it is like for the kids.

We got the 3 day stroller pass, we just happened to come across CMs who were selling them outside the entrance. It saved maybe $5. My daughters were 3 and 6 last trip and we got the double stroller. They will be 5 and 8 next trip and we will be getting the double stroller again. Saves a lot of whining! They did surprisingly well being in those close quarters. Only one struggle over territory within the stroller resulting in one of them pushing the other out and onto the cement in Morocco. Some tears, but Look- there's Aladdin! And the pain is gone.
