6 Year Anniversary - RIP Dime

6 years ago today one of the greatest Musicians ever was taken from us...

OK, I'll admit I have no idea who that is.


However, it's 30 years since John Lennon died.

Doesn't seem to be a good day for music.

He was the guitarist for Pantera, Damageplan and Rebel Meets Rebel (with David Allan Coe). Dime is/was arguably one of the Greatest Metal guitarists of all time, easily in the top 10.

Ironically and sadly both were shot and taken away from us way before they had finished sharing with us their beautiful talents.

But both left unmeasurable marks on their respective genres and changed music in general forever.

The only consolation is that Dime died on stage doing something he loved.

Yes, the crazy "fan" blamed Dime for the breakup of Pantera. This is also a guy who claimed that Pantera stole his music, in other words he had mental issues. So Sad

Yeah no one should ever be murdered in cold blood, it is a sad and abrupt way to go. I too remember that day it was surreal, I didn't believe it when it first happened. Despite popular opinion the Metal Brotherhood and Sisterhood are a tight group the majority of us are very protective of each other and the Metal musicians, so clearly this guy was mentally imbalanced.

I mean what a way to ensure that Pantera never reunites!! I personally feel that remaining members of Pantera will eventually put their differences aside on the 10 year anniversary of Dime's death and tour with a guitarist that was close to Dime and Pantera Scott Ian from Anthrax. You heard it here first

OK, had to read your post to verify who you were talking about. Always knew him by his extended nickname, Dimebag Darrell, instead of just Dime. His death and the entire event was tragic. "Walk" is one of the best heavy metal songs ever, in my opinion.

I agree, "Walk" is amazing....Yeah sorry just wasn't sure if I would get in trouble for using Dimebag so I cut it to his abbreviated nickname
