Just finished up our ADR's for our Spring trip. After much debate with DH and DS, we're going to what I'm feeling is the "same old, same old". DH and DS are no frills eaters. Nothing fancy, good old American food works for them. Nothing wrong with that, but can we venture out just a LITTLE?

On our list is O'Hana's for dinner, Sci Fi for lunch, Chef Mickey's for dinner, Boma for breakfast, Rose and Crown for dinner, LeCellier for lunch, and Whispering Canyon for dinner. Anyone care to guess which is the new one? :rotfl2:

The new one on the list is Rose and Crown. I pretty much sneaked that one in by telling them it's a late enough ADR that we'll be able to view Illuminations from there.

On my list was Captains Grille and Biergarten. Neither made the cut. I guess there's always next time!

Anyone else get tired of going to what seems the same restaurants? It's not that I dislike any of the ones we're going to. I've enjoyed all of them. I just spend too much time here looking at food porn and want to try soemthing new!:rotfl2:

You might like the Cape May Cafe ay BR, they have a great seaford buffet and well as meats. I did it last yr. and liked it very much. I am trying Trails End buffet over at FWC.the reviews sa they have great fried chicken.

We usually split up the take, everyone gets to pick one, then we all agree on the rest andd try to go to at least one new one each trip. The more we go, the more we go back to old favorites. As long as we all enjoy being together, we usually have a great time wherever we eat.

We spent years only eating at CS. There were a few TS that we tried like Crystal Palace,Sci-Fi and WCC, but we mainly ate CS meals.

Last year was the first time we went during free dining and we ate at several new places we had never been before. This year we added more to the list and are only eating at 2 repeats.

Love trying new things!

We are trying all new places this year :banana:, but I understand that it's hard not to go back to the places you really enjoy.

They have the same great fried chicken over at 50s Prime Time. I am craving it.

This past Feb. we did the buffet for lunch at FW but now they've gone and changed it to a plated meal as a test run. Bring back the buffet, please. Good food at a very good price. It was one of the best bargains at WDW.

And the Clambake at Cape May Cafe at the BC is always a favorite. They now have snow crab on the buffet but they have raised the price. When I was there, they were rotating seafood/shellfish and I guess they decided on the snow crab. It was very good. And I can darn near eat my weight in steamed clams there.

try some of the counter service in Epcot, it's a good way to try a few new things

Happy planning! :goodvibes

We have this same trouble. We eat at the same places and add a few new ones. My thought is that we don't go there all the time so eating at the same wdw restaurants every 12 - 18 months is great. We like it and we are happy.

It would be different if at home we ate at the same places everytime. (Except for McD, we have a 4 year old).

Enjoy!

I do all the planning, I pick all the ADR's! I'm lucky though because DH pretty much just likes food...any kind of food and DD7 goes along with whatever we do!
On our list for this trip is Cape May (breakfast and dinner), House of Blues, Tusker House, Sanaa, Crystal Palace, La Hacienda (for Illuminations), Mama Melrose (for Fantasmic!) and Kouzzina.
Of those, Cape May, House of Blues, La Hacienda and Kouzzina are new for us.

Why do they get what they want and you don't? My wife is the only female in the house. I make sure that my son and I don't overwhelm her with male driven activities. We may even go to a princess meal because that's what she wants. :scared1: This is everyone's vacation. You should be able to go to at least 2 new places out of 7. Either way, have fun. :thumbsup2

That's similar to what we did. DS wanted Chef Mickey's, Whispering Canyon, Sci-fi and O'hana's. DH voted for Whispering Canyon, and Boma. I really wanted LeCellier (DS hated it last time-but is willing to try something else on the menu). DH and I both love O'hana's. I'm not thrilled with Sci-fi, however the peanut butter cake there thrills me so it'll end on a fabulous note! :rotfl2:

To the PP who suggested counter service @ Epcot- great idea! I've been eyeballing the menus and will be trying some new stuff there. :)

I love to hear suggestions on what others have enjoyed that might fit the bill for upcoming trips for us.

I really didn't mean to sound like I was complaining. Big picture is we'll be at WDW-THE happiest place on earth! I get to have Mickey bars, school bread, tonga toast, and fiesta margaritas. All things I have enjoyed previously and will again. Maybe all the choices are part of Disney's grand scheme...give us so many options we have to keep going back to try them all! :yay:

I would LOVE to eat in the castle, but I'm not sure I could handle the princesses! I think Cinderella should take a day off every now and then and have someone play fill in host like they do on the morning talk shows! :teacher: I know, I know...it's HER castle, but even a princess needs a day off to go to the spa every now and then!princess:

My DBF and I try to eat at different places each year. We have two favorites that we always eat at, which are Kona and Whispering Canyon, but the other restaurants are always different. We basically choose like 8-10 places we are intersted in eating at, print out the menus and compared which ones sound the best and then narrow it down to the 5 or 6 places we are eating at. I pretty much pick the 10 places and my DBF makes the final cut. I have never had a bad dining experience either.

I agree with the addition of some new CS too. Some of the ones we like are the Famous Tonga Toast from Ohana can be a CS at Capn Cooks, a side note Capn Cooks Aloha Pork Sandwich is the meat from the Luau, and you can get a Dole Whip for dessert.

Try WPE for some great gormet CS, and around world showcase is awesome!

Goin next week with 8 ADR's and 4 new places, first time in years that we are passing on some of our old favorites. :hippie::cool1:

Last month DH and I tried 4 new-to-us restaurants - it was hard, but great! We did have moments of "but what about ____?" but stuck to it. Now we have more restaurants on the "oh let's go back to _____" list :rotfl:

I think either way is great - because it means we're at WDW! :lovestruc

We do this often, the rule is now that everyone picks one favorite and the rest must be new to our family. We finally after 6 trips tried Biergarten and LOVED it!

Our repeats are always Sci-fi for Dd, Le Cellier for Dh and I pick Coral Reef.

Dh asked for "new" places for our dec. trip.

So we are doing Shulas and Flying Fish.

Our same old favorites that I booked are:Cape May Dinner, Kona Dinner, Chefs de France dinner, and LTT and Le Cellier lunch. I am thinking of adding Via Napoli and Cape May breakfast if I can get them too.
