Day 2 Thursday May 8
Weather low 90s and Sunny again!
Planned Itinerary AK hotel swim break MGM Fantasmic!
After breakfast at Pepper Market (I like how this works, and the food is good!) took bus over to AK. Got there fifteen minutes before scheduled opening, but they were letting people in already and saw Minnie at the front gate.
Did Its Tough to be a Bug got right in. That is a lively show! DD was a little scared of all the special effects though. In my opinion it is better than the Muppet show at MGM. Walked back to the Safari saw lots of animals who were active and a few were so close to the vehicle its like we werent even there. One thing I noticed on this ride was that they didnt have the broken down bridge effect. Did they do away with this?
I wasnt really that impressed with AK the park Attractions seemed too spread out. Everything we did was great, but just the visuals in between werent as appealing to me. Maybe it was because we did MK the day before where there was something to see everywhere you turned.
My first ride on Dinosaur was today. My favorite DS wouldnt go on, so Mom and Dad took him and DD over to the carnival area of Dinoland to play games. They ended up winning 4 stuffed animals. Dad and I did Primeval Whirl, I compare it to a spinning Wild Mouse Ride. Dizzying!
It was 11:30 AM and we were all hot. Took a bus back to CSR to head to the Dig Site. What a place! I like the Pyramid of the Sun and the water that splashes down from it. DS loved the Jaguar Slide. This was a nice break, and we had lunch at the Siesta bar right there (they serve burgers, dogs and such)
Around 3:30, we left for MGM, which seemed crowded. Managed to do Voyage of the Little Mermaid before our Fantasmic package PS at Hollywood and Vine. While checking in for our PS, there was a person in front of me who was expecting to get his party of 14 seated without reservations. When he was turned down, he walked away telling his party to go to Prime Time Café instead. Good luck!!!
Hollywood and Vine was nice and had pretty much the same menu as the Crystal Palace. I would try something different next time, as the metal chairs werent that comfortable.
Got done dinner and slipped into the Indiana Jones show then onto the 7:15 of Beauty and the Beast. I should have gotten a FP for Tower of Terror before that, because by the time we came out of Beauty, Towers FP was closed and there wasnt enough time to wait in line and get a decent seat in Fantasmic around 8:30. So Mom and I went to Rockin Rollercoaster instead which only took 10 minutes. Loved the ride could have gone on over and over!
Fantasmic was asuper even if our seats were all the way on the right. Loved the wall of water that acted as the movie screen! We left a few minutes before the fireworks, to get ahead of the crowd. (Fantasmic was FULL!). This was a good move. We were first on the bus. Lights out at 10:45 pm
