Just got back from the coldest week ever in Disneyworld. Fortunately we had lots of tableservice ressies to keep us indoors! Here are my random thoughts on our meals....there are no pictures! MY DH would be mortified if I whipped out the camera to take pictures of my food!

LeCelliar- First Meal in the world! First time for me too. We got the trip for our appetizer, crab, tomato stack and the soup. None of us were wowed by the soup and pretzel bread. We happily enjoyed the other two appy's. I have to say that my filet with mushroom risotto was AMAZING! DH had the NY Strip which was good, but mine was better! For the desserts though his Maple Cream Brulee was better than my brumbleberry cobbler. DS9's steak was good, not great.

Chef Mickey's- Much better than I thought it would be based on mixed reviews - but we loved it. Character interactions were plentiful and fun, Prime rib was excellent and everything else was good as well. Will definately be back if on a DDP - but the price is pretty steep IMO.

Boulangerie Patisserie- got snack credits here one night for breakfast the next day. Ham and cheese crossaints were sooooo good! Also enjoyed the apple tart, chocolate eclair and chocolate cake. The Napoleon really didn't go over well with my family though - just cream and wafers, and not very sweet.

Sci Fi- This is a must do for us every trip- ambience really. I got my usual Reuben and Cucumber salad. DH had a burgeer and Fries. I tried the BLT soup for the first time and loved it - more of a creamy tomato bisque (very little lettuce). Service was excellent and our luch was perfectly timed as it rained really hard in HS the whole hour we were in there! Dessert was the choc/pnut butter cake - just okay. DH wins again in the desserts category with the cheesecake - it was actually layered with red velvet cake (not described this way in the menu) - very good!

50's Prime Time- Fun time here - waitress fed DH his greens via the airplane and gave him a hard time for playing with his "walkie talkie" (i-phone) at the table. Kids got a kick out of setting the table :confused3 DH liked his fried chicken and my tuna casserole was delicious as well. DS9 was excited to order meatloaf off thier menu because it is not the typical kids meal - but it was disappointing. It was shaped like a ball, very dry and too heavy with the wortsheshier sauce (spell??). DH wins the desserts again here too! I had the boston cream parfait, very processed tasting -I hate fake food desserts. He had the brownie sundae - ymmy! They put a handful of carmel corn and candy on top!

Whispering Canyon Cafe- We did not opt for the all you can eat option here this time around and we are sure glad! I really enjoyed the raisin french toast, and DH had an egg white spinach omelet, which was good but very greasy. DS9 wasn't feeling great and the waitress allowed us to sub a bowl of oatmeal for his kids meal. He didn't really eat that so she took it off the bill completely and gave him some toast without a charge. Great service here.

Liberty Tree Tavern-DH liked his clam chowder - I ordered the tomatoe florentine soup which was so salty I couldn't eat it so they brought me the chicken noodle instead, this was much better. He had the pot roast and enjoyed it - I had the chicken salad with apples and a vinagrette (name escapes me right now)...it was good too. We only ordered one desert to taste it, the ooey gooey toffee cake, it was super sweet. To me it was more like a giant chocolate chip cookie with extra sugar. I did not get toffee flavor really. Nice quick lunch here and would go back.

Wolfgang Puck Express- This was our only "quick service" but it feels like a sit down restaurant with the china plates and the CM bringing the food out. DH had the rotisserie chicken and I had a cobb salad (or some kind of salad). Everything was good. One of my kids picked a sugar cookie for his dessert and I ended up eating it 2 days later, I was surprised at the moistness and flavor of the cookie - definately worth trying. If you are on the regular DDP this is a must do. Hands down the single best value for your QS credits.

Hoop Dee Doo Review- FUN FUN FUN!! If you haven't been, this is a must do! Food was good too - except the strawberry shortcake, again - very processed and packaged tasting. Wine was included and served in jelly jars - they weren't stingy either. Truth be told the wine was not very good - but for the price, I can't complain!

Les Chefs de France- Ate here for lunch and got to see Remy!! Very cool:lmao: DH had the french onion soup and the salmon entree that he liked very much. I was going french all the way and had the cheese plate and the quich lorraine. The cheese plate was very generous - there is no way I could have eaten all of it. Heck - all of us couldn't finish it. All the cheeses were good and not over the top (meaing, they were not stinky, strong "aquired taste" cheeses). The quiche was so rich I could only eat half of it. I am glad I tried it, because this was unlike any quiche I have had. The French know their quiche!

Rose & Crown- I lucked into a 8pm ressie here - perfect timimg to enjoy Illuminations while we polished off our desserts. That alone was worth the price of admission! I cannot imagine a better vantage point to see the show. I should mention it was FLIPPING COLD in the world the week were there and the patio was enclosed with plastic and space heaters utilized. We actually dined out on the patio and this made the meal very comfortable and we stayed in our seats for the show. I had fish and chips - quintessential but a little greasy - fish was good. DH had the Fisherman's Stew which was excellent. Dessert was the sticky toffee pudding and DH had a lemon pie. Mine was okay, not great. I was bummed because I was really looking forward to the toffee pudding but it really tasted packaged/preserved like so many other desserts we had. The lemon pie was tart, tasty - yet again DH wins the dessert category.

Tusker House- Breakfast with Donald - in the park! Great selection of Boma-esqe unique choices and typical american fair. My favorite here was the cheese blintes and the hand carved ham with that lovely sweet-spicy mustard sauce! No complaints here.

California Grill- Great Meal here despite a slow start. Ressies were at 9:20pm and the fireworks from MVMCP were at 9:30. We did not get seated until close to 10pm because they pretty much don't move any tables just prior to and during the Fireworks. We were okay though, went outside to watch the fireworks - really glad we did because it our two days in MK were the 2 coldest days of the trip and there is no way we were gonna stay late enough to see the fireworks in the park. This was much better. We both had Sushi (Spicy Kazaan Roll) for our apps - they were good, we were both surprised by the "fire ball sauce" it is filled with cooked seafood. This Sushi had so much flavor going on that they serve it without soy sauce, wasabi and ginger. I asked for it (out of ignorance) and it was really better without it. For entree, DH had the filet and liked it better his steak at LC. DS9 had a steak too, this was actually a nice steak and the waiter cut it up for him - allowing us to enjoy our meals. Nice touch in the service category! My entree was a Sea Scallop dish that I don't see on the menu's online. It was served in a very autumn fashion - with purreed squash and slivered apples on top. Perfectly cooked and I really loved it. Desserts here were some of the best we had. Pumpkin Cheesecake came with cranberry white chocolate cookies and the Bananas and Caramel. These were definately NOT packaged and preserved. This was a great experience!

Kona Cafe- B'fast ressies were actually for Ohana's but they were running 30 minutes behind seating ADR's. Kona got us in as a walk up in less than 10 minutes. Really enjoyed the macademia pineapple pancakes on the Big Kahuna platters. Neighboring table had the Tonga Toast and I think my blood sugar went up just looking at it!

Citricos- Last meal of the trip - DH had the shrimp appetizer served over angel hair pasta for his entree (he originally ordered a swordfish dish but they were out of it). He liked it. I ordered the filet here and it was really really great! I ate every spec of my steak and the 4 cheese mashed potatoes. If I had to choose, I think this one is slightly better than the LC filet in flavor. However I think the LC filet was more tender - no knofe required at LC :rotfl:

Thanks for the reviews! I had the macadamia pineapple pancakes at Kona, and couldn't even come CLOSE to finishing them! (And I can normally eat a ton of pancakes, these were just SO dense, but sooo delicious!)

Enjoyed reading your reviews because you ate at a few of the places we ate at in December, but you also ate at some of the restaurants we plan on dining at next month.

Your Le Cellier review was almost exactly how we felt! We also have a 9:20pm ADR at Cali Grill. I was hoping for earlier, but we had to switch it recently, and 9:20 was the only time available. However, the fireworks are earlier than they are when you went, so I'm hoping we get seated close to our reservation time. We've heard the meal takes time, and we like that, but we don't want to be there until after midnight (or feel rushed, either).

Awesome reviews.. Short, sweet and to the point.. I have alot of the same places on my list for May and I am so glad that most all of your reviews have been positive.. AWESOME..

Thank you Loganpaulmom! I was a little worried about putting reviews out there without pictures - I am glad you enjoyed it!

I had no problem eating every bite of the smaller portion on the Big Kahuna platter! They are delicious - wishing I could have one now :(

I just read your review and we really did have the same opinions start to finish - crazy! I am glad I got to try LC before it goes to a 2TS restaurant. I am not sure if I would choose this over Citricos or Cali Grill but the filet was amazing! I hope you enjoy Cali Grill - the whole experience was great for us.
