6 carat diamond

What do you suppose a 6 carat diamond is worth? DMIL has a friend with an up scale jewelry store and one of their clients requested one. Just curious.

Hmmm. I think a one carat diamond can run anywhere from $500.00 to $3,000.00, depending on the 4 C's. So I'm guessing anywhere from $3,000.00 to $18,000.00 or more???

I have no idea. It may even be 5 C's, not 4.

As Saffron said it would completely depend on the cut, clarity and color of the diamond. I did a quick search and my guess is this would range about $40-100K (and up) depending on all that (maybe less if it is a very poor quality diamond) Diamonds get mighty pricey once you get above 1 carat as they are hard to find big and clear.

My wild guess was around 50k. The store in question would not sell poor quality material. I'm guessing 50K+ is the amount.
