Be aware if it is larger than a 6 pack, they usually will send you to the picnic area.

Ok, help a girl out...what ARE you allowed to take into the park food/drink wise? I keep reading conflicting information!

As well i dont think you can bring in like McD's/Subway.
Good to know! I've taken food from one park to another, but never outside meals/sandwiches. And here I thought I was being bad taking my Riverbelle Terrace Veggie Po' Boy into DCA with me.Don't know about McD's (yuck), but we frequently bring in sandwiches from Quizno's. The security folks may make a joke about wanting to share it with us, but otherwise have passed us through without a comment.
No alcohol, weapons, or glass containers is definitely a written rule. You can bring in glass baby food jars and small bottles of perfume (under 4 oz.), though. I gotta say, if you need to bring the whole bottle of perfume with you into the parks to reapply, you are probably wearing too much. The other part is unwritten, though. It's kind of funny to imagine someone going into the park with sandwich ingredients and making it there instead of just brining the pre-made sandwich. Do they really need that rule? The (mostly unwritten) rule, as I understand it, is: no alcohol or weapons, no glass containers, and you can't take fixings to make your own meal. Other than that, any pre-made sandwiches, food, and drink is OK. Plastic bottles of water or soda are definitely OK.

Disney food blog did an article about bringing food in recently. You CAN bring food in. You can't make food in the park (like sandwiches) but anything oremade is fine. We've brought in water, sodas, snacks, fast food, sandwiches, etc.
Shannon,
Since you mentioned this, I decided to do some googling, and I found the article by the Disney food blog that you are mentioning.
Here is the information that I found that I think will help the OP:
"No box, cooler, bag, or other container larger than 24″ x 15″ x 18″ is allowed into the parks as a food receptacle, or for any other purpose. This means that youll have to leave that giant Coleman you use for tailgates at home. "
You can read the rest of the article here:

I think the "size matters" part of the situation is due to the fact that they want you to have the ability to store it in a locker if needed--and if it is too big to even fit in a locker, then that is probably too big of a container. I think it is a good idea to just use common sense. It would be way too cumbersome to bring a huge cooler into the parks (not only for the person using it, but for others trying to get around it and for manuevering around the parks)--but a regular sized cooler is appropriate. If you have kids, you are probably going to want to go back to your hotel room mid day anyway, so leaving some of the food there makes sense rather than trying to cart it around all day.
Hope this helps!![]()
