6/29/15 Magic to Norway & Iceland

Really, really wish jetBlue or similar style airline flew to Europe. JB just opened up their calendar to include my WDW Christmas/ Fantasy New year trip. This is the first time I've booked "opening day" and I am very pleased with the holiday pricing. Our family of three is flying for less than $800 round trip non-stop. Before booking I checked with the legacy airlines and the best I could find cost $2900.

Southwest & Jet Blue rock!! I'm seriously going to look into Norwegian Air. I know their customer service isn't rated well, but mama wants a price break!

I have the 150 days before I fly marked on the calendar so I can look at airfare.

Our plan is to fly to London and spend a day or 2 there and then just take a short flight to Copenhagen. I looked at EasyJet which is similar to Southwest for flights and they seem reasonable. Just have to pay attention to the add on fees. I will look at Norwegian Air from Heathrow, they may be cheaper.

In my case, it's "Auntie knows even a small break times 8 adds up" and that keeps my sis, b-i-l and parents happy!

Hoping we can fly from home, but already prepared to look at the 8 hour drive to Toronto or 11 hours to Buffalo if the price is right ... We do this for Orlando routinely and BUF won out for our Disneyland trip this summer too - trying SW for the first time. (Usually Jet Blue or Airtran.)

Where is home? Our son will be attending Syracuse at that time and will need to fly from his local area. I'll have to search for good flight deals twice.

Up near Timmins ... that's our closet airport. Sad to say it's usually significantly cheaper for us to drive a full day south to fly (even when you factor in hotels, gas, food, and the exchange rate). Planning flights around here is a major event!

I'm super excited to join this group AND to go on this cruise!!!
My name's Amanda. My husband is Tom. We have 3 children who will be 11, 9, and 7 at the time of the cruise. We live in the suburbs of NYC
We are big Disney World fans, new-ish DVC members, and I'm a runDisney fanatic. We've only been on one prior Disney Cruise and that was a 5-night Dream double-dip cruise. My husband isn't a huge beach person (he has 2 colors: ghostly white and lobster red) so he didn't love it. We're super excited to go to Northern Europe though.
We have connecting 9C staterooms.
Can't wait to meet everyone!

Amanda

PS I sent a request to join the Facebook group.

Hi Amanda,

Welcome!! Where in Westchester? I grew up in Montrose, went to HS in Ossining!

We live in Florida now and I do miss my Yankees and good pizza!!

Silverfox - I just noticed that you are a transplant from O-H-I-O! :cool1: And from Lorain. I live a bit east of that in Garfield Hts.

Always nice to see an Ohioian... even if you fled to warmer climates!

I grew up across the GWB and tunnels to NYC (NJ). Huge Yankee fan here too

I work in the Bronx near the #4 train (which stops at Yankee Stadium). We actually have a (very) small season ticket package. My kids got to run around the bases last summer!

Who you are going with:

DH - Wally (W@LL-E) plus Karen (Dizdragonfly) & Jason her DH

::yes:: Can't wait!

Penny is from Malden, MA

I lived in Malden for a few years, as a kid, and my mom's family is from there. :wave2:

Where you are from:

We currently live in Oregon. But we spent ten years in Arizona and I was born and raised in Massachusetts.

Who you are going with:

Jason, my DH and Wally and Terrie!

Favorite travel

I can't choose. I've always loved to travel.

If you were a Disney character which one would you be?

Belle. I'm an avid reader as well and married to my own Beast. He's all scruffy and growly on the outside, but he's all mush on the inside.

Where you are from: Currently northern NJ, just outside of Manhattan.
Who you are going with: Husband and daughter (who will have just turned 6.
Favorite travel (ie fave disney cruise or the best place you have travelled to): Lots to choose from but would have to say our 3 week vacation in Turkey - the absolute perfect vacation.
If you were a Disney character which one would you be?
Not sure - possibly Grumpy or Eeyore. :)

We're really excited about this trip. We did the Magic from NYC and the Fantasy this past December. I love the Fantasy and am hoping that I'll like the reimagined Magic.

I'll check various airlines and routes but I think we'll do a RT NYC/EWR to London. We fly right away to Copenhagen and spend a couple of pre-cruise days there. Then when we get to Dover, we'll head to London and spend a few days post-cruise there. I have friends in both of those places and Oslo as well so being able to see them has just added to my excitement.

We've already signed up for the FE and will slowly start to research the ports over the next few months.

Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Where in northern NJ? I grew up in Clifton and lived all over.
Our oldest will be 7.5 on board and while he's a boy, he gets along great with girls! We're also going to spend a few days pre-cruise in Copenhagen
