6-17-2011 Dream Cruise

June 16th will be our first time cruising! It's me, DH, and DD (5). I can hardly wait

We can't wait either....dd is sooooo excited. We've cruised before, but w/o dd and it wasn't DCL!

We will not be participating in the FE so our names will need to be removed from the list. Sorry.
.
Awww...I hate that

ok so for the FE, we need to decide on a cut off date. I say end of April to mid May...probably...that will give us about 4-6 weeks to get our gifts together and have a final count.

What do you all think. I don't have all of your email addresses. If you want me to email you the FE list or you want to be a part of the exchange...please send me a pm. Thanks!!!!!!!!

I noticed most people have their names listed for the FE exchange.....so.....
DH.....Brett
ME.....Jennifer
DD (11)....Kayleigh
DD (9).....Chloe
DS (8).....Jacob

Y'all want to say May 8 for cut off date for FE? That will give us 5 weeks till we sail.

Any newcomers can sign up between now and then. All welcome.

RobandKelly - Do yall want to participate in the Fish Extender? It's basically a small gift exchange program for us Dis'ers on the cruise? If so, send me a PM.

Anyone else?

Traci your doing a great job!!!

Ditto!! Thanks Traci! I added my family's names too! This is going to be fun! Do we have any meets planned yet? It looks like we WILL be going on this cruise!!:cool1::cool1:

I would like to plan something on the first day so we can meet and introduce the hubbies and kids. I would like to organize a cabin crawl the first day if anyone is interested. We can start in our cabin...basically it is a way for everyone to see the different cabin types. We have an oceanview view 9A cabin that is forward facing. Our cabin is larger but a little awkward because of the sloped ceilings. I had NO idea what it looked like when I booked it. I booked it because it LOOKED bigger on the deck plan.

So, is any interested in a Cabin Crawl?

Colleen

This is great news!!! My daughter will be happy to hear your still going :)

You are so welcome...I'm an organizer by nature. ha ha

Colleen - Glad y'all are still going!! Yes a meet and greet/cabin crawl sounds great!! Thanks for volunteering to do organize it.

I'll resend the FE list...There is a typo! lol:rotfl:

haven't bought our plane tickets yet...really need to get on that! :guilty:

Don't worry, I have bought the plane tickets and the hotel and cruise are taken care of. But there is so many other things on the list:
  • 1Day 1Park Universal Studios Tickets
  • 1 Day Disney World Ticket (Not sure about the park)
  • We are considering the DDP (not sure yet, because we are DVC)
  • Fisnish the summer clothes shopping for the kids - Almost done
  • Complete the shopping for Hubby and I - waiting until the last minute (except for my swim cover up - no swimsuit yet) LOL
See I do not think that I have touched the surface of what needs to be purchased. Of course, I am a bargain shopper. Which is what the problem is I think :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Gotta do some more :surfweb: browsing, and we will see what pops up! :thumbsup2

Us too! My return flight (cheaper flight) leaves MCO at 9:50 AM :scared1:don't think I will chance it, so we may drive. We are in NC, so the drive won't be too bad. I could book another flight later in the day, but it leaves at 5:30 PM, we could be home faster if we drive.

We had that problem with our return flight. The only flight on AirTran that was non-stop back to our home was at 7:59 PM. :scared1::scared1: but we only paid $72 pp.

We went ahead and kept it, but we did reserve a "Day Room" at the hotel at MCO. The cost was about 80 bucks but it will make things easier because we have the little one and we will have a place for him to burn off some energy, without running others over. ;)

Cruising on the Dream June 17 with DH, DD 12 and DD almost 10. So excited! It's our first Disney cruise. Actually, I went on a Disney cruise about 25 years ago when they used the Princess boats. Wasn't all that impressed but I've heard the new boats and customer service are amazing! My sister is on the Dream right now (set sail yesterday). Just wondering if anyone can clue me in about the fish extender idea. Sounds fun!

Hi Michele...

I am the FE organizer. Basically what it is...is a gift exchange program. You hang a little thing outside of your stateroom door that holds your gifts. If you are interested in participating send me a PM with the names of your family members, ages of the kiddos and state room #. Also include your email address and I will email you the list.

Let me know if you have any questions!!

You will have a great time!! Our meets group has lots of girls the same age, they are really going to have a blast. My DD will be 12 and 10 when we cruise. They are already making friends online!!

How old are your kids and what kind of food do they like? Our first trip I got the DDP because my kids love ALLLLL sorts of food and it made it worthwhile, especially with the character dining. They were older (15 and 11) but we are Disney Nuts :cool1: We used to be DVC - sometimes I miss it, sometimes I don't lol.

As for your Universal Ticket - check the boards on here for great deals on tickets. That's where I got ours last time for our Christmas trip and surprise cruise, through a link I found on there. I paid for All-Access two-day tickets for the price of one! If you don't find anything right off, post a question about it and people can lead you to where you need to go :goodvibes

I have yet to buy our plane tickets either. :sad2: I really wanted to fly American because of my miles but....idk if it's worth it. :confused3 If we drove, it'd just be DD and I and we would need an extra day there and back to get back home....I want to relax! lol

Made final payment today!!!!!!!!!!!!!1:cool1::banana:

Welcome Michele! Yes, lots of 12-13 year olds in this group. They are starting to get to know each other. Let us know if your daughter is interested in joining the group.:thumbsup2

Colleen

Also, when are everyone's dining times? We have 6:00 with the 9:00 show.

Hey all ... we're on this cruise too. Bringing our DD (age 11 by 2 days) and DS (age 5).

First cruise, so I can book some excursions tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it.

Question: Did Disney change the age limit for the Oceaneer Club and Lab? When I made the reservation my DD was eligible for it, as she and her brother could have done that together. I even saw it on-line listing both of the eligible in my reservation. Today I see only my DS is eligible and that only children up to age 10 can participate. I'm guessing she'll not be able to do that with her brother (since she'll have turned 11 on Jun 15), but does anyone know for sure?

We're a 5 PM Show Time and 6 PM Dining.

Have a good weekend everyone!
