On our last cruise- I had to iron something- and it was a madhouse in the little laundry room- I am bringing a hand steamer this time.

I read that you can have items pressed for 50% of the laundering charge. So I plan to have some items sent out that first day to have ready by Mon. I HATE to iron!

Does anyone else that has a Cat 12 look at their reservation everday (at least twice) to see if your room is on there yet, or is it just me? And yes I do know it usually doesn't come up until after 4 weeks before the cruise(and sometimes later). I have issues.

Iron what's an iron? I just don't buy things that need to be ironed.

When my son was about 8 he saw a picture of an iron in a sale add and says to my mom "We got one of those, it's in a cabinet in the basement"... like if was some kind of mysterious object.

Instead of laundry I usually do things like wear the same pants a few times to dinner and just switch shirts, often I'll wear the shirt I'm going to wear the next day to dinner. Nobody remembers what you wore 2 days ago but you.

What I hate packing is shoes. I'm not even a shoe person, but you need sneakers, and sandals, and dress sandles, multiple that by 4 people and it's almost a suitcase worth of shoes!

I know, I have to admit me jealousy of the person that booked the Cat 12 and wound up getting the Cat 5 because someone cancelled

Oh my! My DD & I are both are 'shoeaholics' Will have to scale down, thou. Between the baggage fee & the lower weight...WOW! My DH's size 11's will almost meet the weight requirements

I just bought DD a bunch of polyester sun dresses for the summer and cruise. NO wrinkles or ironing!

And I bought a new 7 piece set of luggage from Kohls last week. It was on sale and then I had a 30% off coupon. It was a great deal!

And my kidney stone is killing me. Work tonight and the next 2. Then I'm off for the weekend. Hope I can make it. If not, at least I'm at the hospital already.

I have no idea if we'll get upgraded. I keep reading conflicting info. 1st time cruisers never get upgraded, 1st time are the 1st to get upgraded. Guess I'll just have to wait, which is NOT my strong suit.

As for upgrades, we had cat12 our first cruise & were upgraded 2nd to cat 11...they were EXACTLY the same room! I would love to get an upgrade more than 11 being we will have 3 girls & of course my DH in the room. Getting ready for dinner each night should be a blast!

As for ironing.. my stuff looks worse after I iron, so if you see us... we will be the 'wrinkle' family

I saw some of that luggage that was on sale, it was very nice. MY MIL got us some luggage for Christmas on Black Friday(of course I picked it up) last year, a really good sale. There's something about new luggage.....

I hope you feel better, maybe get one of the doctor's to take a look.

Our first cruise, we booked a cat 9 and got upgraded to a cat 6. We found out at the port. They may have told us on line, but i don't even remember checking! Plus, we did not do any planning, excursions, nothing! Just booked excursions on the ship! Now I have OCD cruise planning! I'm already wanting to start planning our Northern Baltics trip in July 2010. We are getting cat 6 for that one. Maybe we'll get upgraded to a cat 3!

I don't buy anything that needs to be ironed. I own an iron but only use it to do iron-ons.
