Sometimes they don't stagger when the ship is not very full. They did not stagger the EB Trans Atlantic in 2007 bc the ship was empty. They even only had 2 late seating rotations vs the normal 3. We were lucky bc we had early dining but no later seating following us. It was great bc we got so much extra and had the best wait staff ever!!!

Then last summer in June the ship was packed and there were 3 seatings at both main and late seating.

I could be wrong but I doubt DCL will do away with the staggered times. It helps everyone to have it that way. It helps to break up the movement on the ship, ie everyone is not trying to use the elevators at once, etc.

I hope so because I can't do that 8:15p time

Hi there, found this thread. My family will be setting sail on this cruise, can't wait!! It will be three of us: DH, DD (12) and myself. My DD would love to start chatting and make some friend before the cruise. PM, if interested.
Thanks!!

I read some where either on the thread or a trip report...where a guy got up at 4:30am on the day the rooms were to be assigned! I thought that was funny! :) Also reassured my obsession, that I'm not the only one :)

Ok now that is a little-:crazy: LOL:rotfl::lmao:

Wow! If we don't get early seating, looks like we will be eating at Topsiders. 8:15... you won't get out of dinner until 10:30 or so!

Yep, that is why I like early dinning.:) But if we had older kids I think the later dinning time would be fine.

We have done both before. The only thing I didn't like about late seating was when we were done eating at 10:30, my DD & DH wanted to go to bed..Ugh! I of course did not, but was over ruled! I already informed them we are NOT doing that this time :rotfl:

My kids usually go to bed early at home, but when we vacation, we like to stay in the parks late (we usually take afternoon breaks). I know mine will be going to their respective clubs as soon as they finish eating. I like the idea of getting their food quickly with the new dine and play with the late dining, and enjoying a leisurely dinner with adults. Then going to some of the adult activities after dinner. :goodvibes

We did late seating last time but was never there till 10:30. DH also tended to be more tired after dinner though.

My kids however were falling asleep at every show and they would much rather enjoy the show then chicken fingers! :rotfl:

My girls turn nito pumpkins at 8pm at home. While on vacation however all bets are off! I LOVE the play and dine idea and will be taking advantage of it EVERY night!!!

I will be right there with you heading to fun activities after they are in the clubs and dinner is finished! :thumbsup2

On our last trip we had AWFUL service. We were getting our meals and other people were leaving, it was horrible!

My DD always went to bed at 7:00 when she little, now goes at 9:00. But, when we are on vacation, there are no bed times :)

We had terrible service too last time! I complained the first night and things did get better.

I am going to request our server from our first cruise. He was AMAZING!!!

Hmm.. wish I could remember ours! :) Our first cruise was great! We have already decided that if dinner runs real late, that we are going to eat else where. I hate to do that, due to eating at dinner is half the experience, but that is better than be frustrated! If it were up to my DH we wouldn't eat in the dinning room at all after our last experience.
