Stephanie, MK is open until 1am on the 12th/13th. You could go get the girls cards there the night before and then leave early for the launch. You're welcome to join us at the hotel.

We should be able to see the shuttle launch really well from the beach at our hotel if it goes off on the 13th, correct? We are staying at the Country Inn and Suites.

I know you all are staying by the port, what are you guys planning to do the night before the cruise? What time will you arrive?

We come in on the 11th (Thursday) sometime that afternoon (driving from Atlanta). Staying at Country Inn and Suites. On Friday we're going to Kennedy for the day. No plans for Fri night.

Last night and today have been rough. My back is really hurting and I'm passing tons of stones (that's good, but painful). But I think I found my FE gifts!

he did not give me anything for it and the he did suggest bloodwork to check my cell count so i did that when i left it was right across the hall. however, i forgot until i got home that we changed insurances on april 1st due to a buy out so i will most likely have to pay for it. but i will just add it to the list of my car accident medical bills

My DS would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see the shuttle launch. We have to record it every time it's on. How in the world can I get from The Swan to the launch in the morning????? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

That's good you did the bloodwork. It'll show if you have an infection or inflammation. Don't forget to call and check on the results. Docs are notorious for not calling back with them.

You would have to go out at 4-5 am

Shuttle launches are fun and very cool, but keep in mind that this could compromise travel on the 528 east that morning. Security around the KSC area gets really tight and Pt Canaveral is only a stone's throw away. Fortunately it is an early launch so all of the madness coming & going should be cleared by 10am... just in time for us to think about heading over

You absolutely CAN see a shuttle launch from WDW - just look to the eastern sky. It's lovely.

We booked our own excursion through Shoretrips. We booked the City Tour & Stingray City Swim and check in is at 8:45 am. I hope we make it!!!!!!

Darn, I was trying to paste in a "print screen" about the ships in Grand Cayman. DCL is the FIRST into port at 6:14 am which is great news for early tendering because right after at 7am, 8am and 9am three Carnival ships pull in with 8,000 more passsengers...

Interestingly, DCL is also the last ship to leave at 5pm, with the others at 4pm (2 of them) and 4:30. The tendering back out to the ships will be a ZOO at 3:00 - heads up!

You absolutely CAN see a shuttle launch from WDW - just look to the eastern sky. It's lovely.

You would have to ditch us & rent a car to DRIVE to port instead of using DCL transfer BUT you wouldn't do that ~ would you?!?!?

We are over at the Radisson which is very close to you and I am thinking there are others staying here as well!!! We will not have transportation but I am all for walking to the restaurant that is close or heading across the street to the Putt Putt or GO Karts

That is great about the Launch.... Keep in mind many times they move it and the time changes or even the day..... In Dec of 06 we were very lucky to have the Captain on the MAGIC hang around Cape Canaveral off shore and we were able to see the launch PERFECT from being on the ocean with no obstructed view. IT was INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!! If I could find a pic I would post but gosh I haven't even posted the family pic to Stephanie yet....Priorities

Wow, the board has been busy! good luck to everyone dealing with kids/families medical problems. Sometimes I think its a miracle just to get even a week without struggles . . . .

I broke down & booked a couple of excursions while on Castaway Cay ~ 1 for me (Elemis Sole Delight Foot Treatment with Pedicure) & 1 for Jayde (The Wild Side/teen excursion). And I hoping I can talk Jayde into eating @ Cookie's for lunch since we didn't try it last time we were there (we got seasick from the glass bottom boat).

That is great about the Launch.... Keep in mind many times they move it and the time changes or even the day..... In Dec of 06 we were very lucky to have the Captain on the MAGIC hang around Cape Canaveral off shore and we were able to see the launch PERFECT from being on the ocean with no obstructed view. Ok, forwhatever reason, my computer and these boards are going super slow?? I started to try and catch up with you all by reading them last night but it was taking about 5 min., just to turn a page or answer back, so for right now, forgive me for not reading the last several pages...

How is everyone? Anything new?
I called DCL today and asked about what if they get an offical call off the ports at Mexico due to this really bad flu outbrake there. I was told that if there is an offical warning ( she said the name but can't recall) they would change and we would go to other ports, maybe the Eastern route IF they can get the ports that they usually have or they may try for another port somewhere east that they can work out quick. She said they don't have time to tell everyone, so just keep with the news and if that goes offically then they will be changing the ports, but not sure where.
