:hug:You would have to ditch us  & rent a car to DRIVE to port instead of using DCL transfer  BUT you wouldn't do that ~ would you?!?!?
No Deb I am not ditching you!!!! I was thinking we would see it together. We will have to figure it out TOGETHER!

I am also staying at the C&I on Friday night. We are driving down on the 12th. I would love it if we could plan a big dinner somewhere on Friday night for a "DIS MEET". With my friends, there will be seven of us. Anyone interested?
We are going to DTD and eating at T-Rex at 6:15 pm. If you are all are interested let me know and I will increase the reservation # so you can meet us and join us.

Hummm, I wonder if that would work?????

Rent a car and leave SUPER early! :rotfl:

:banana::banana::banana:

I am keeping my fingers crossed that the time changes! :thumbsup2 I would love for it to happen later! Maybe at sail away....:lmao: :thumbsup2 Is that too much to ask???? :lmao::rotfl::lmao::rotfl:
I'm with you - hoping they change to time at least until the deck party when we are getting ready to sail away. Or like someone else mentioned and their captain waited so the ship could see it. It' like a once in a lifetime event. How cool is it going to be to be able to see it.

I called DCL today and asked about what if they get an offical call off the ports at Mexico due to this really bad flu outbrake there. I was told that if there is an offical warning ( she said the name but can't recall) they would change and we would go to other ports, maybe the Eastern route IF they can get the ports that they usually have or they may try for another port somewhere east that they can work out quick. She said they don't have time to tell everyone, so just keep with the news and if that goes offically then they will be changing the ports, but not sure where.:)

CDC Recommendations
CDC has NOT recommended that people avoid travel to Mexico at this time. If you are planning travel to Mexico, follow these recommendations to reduce your risk of infection and help you stay healthy.

This was as of noon today.

We will not be getting off the ship if this gets any worse, even if there are no travel warnings. Maddy can't get all of her immunizations so we have to take extra caution in places like this. We will just have to enjoy the magic all by our lonesome.

One good thing is that Cozumel is kind of remote so it should be harder to be infected there.

That FL resident rate is selling our cruise quickly!

If you put in 4 people the cheapest you can get is an 8. For 3 people you can get an 11 or the next is an 8.

Is that what is called CDC? I couldn't recall, and yes nothing offical right now, but if it is later for us then that is when they would change.
I understand about Maddy.:) It is kind of scary since this is not looking as if it will be self controlled from what I am seeing.

How is Maddy doing? I am sure it is hard on Brooklyn too!

I have no prob staying on board ~ we have already been to Cozumel. Just looked it up (swine flu ) & there have been 6 cases in CA & 2 TX.

Now confirmed cases in NYC and Kansas. With the CDC here in Atlanta, it is all over the news.

Lance's immunity cannot be subjected either so we will be staying on the boat with ya!

What do you think about this being in the medical field?
Well, since it is spreading fairly rapidly, it has the potential to be a large and widespread issue. So far, the cases in the US have been mild and no deaths. I don't know if the deaths are due to the areas in Mexico being hit, health care available there, lack of medicine, etc. I don't think there is reason to panic, but if not taken seriously it could become a BIG problem. The WHO issued a warning that it could become a pandemic if left unchecked. Just continue to use good hand washing, go to the doc if you have flu symptoms (cough, dizzy, Headache, fever, etc).

IF this continues, I will seriously consider staying on the ship and eating the money for the dolphin swim.

What do you think about this being in the medical field?
If this swine flu continues, even if we stay on the ship we will be exposed to tons and tons of people who did NOT and could spread it all over the ship...

I seriously hope that DCL doesn't go to Cozumel...

I have heard there are several good restaurants around the area we would defiantely be up to meeting for dinner somewhere...

We are over at the Radisson which is very close to you and I am thinking there are others staying here as well!!! We will not have transportation but I am all for walking to the restaurant that is close or heading across the street to the Putt Putt or GO Karts:banana::banana::banana::banana:
There is a place called Kelsey's across the street from the Radisson- maybe we could have dinner there.

Wow, the board has been busy! good luck to everyone dealing with kids/families medical problems. Sometimes I think its a miracle just to get even a week without struggles . . . .
We'll be at the Radissson friday night, although we probably wont get there till 5-6, but would be up for meetuing some folks. Have a great weekend everyone . .

I am ready for a Port Canaveral Dismeet on Friday night.:thumbsup2
