We had terrible service too last time! I complained the first night and things did get better.

I am going to request our server from our first cruise. He was AMAZING!!!

so who is a great server? We have had some terrific servers, but I have no idea who might still be there. We did see the one bad server we had on the Wonder again this trip and were very pleased to have someone else.

Late dinner had us getting out after 10 and everyone very full and ready for bed.

Has anyone decided to link there dining? We did this on our last cruise, so we sat with kids that were Jordan and my nephews age, it was nice to sit with Dis-friends vs. complete strangers. Anyone interested?

I'm interested, Nikki, to sit with y'all! We requested the early (5pm) dining because of the rotation. Puts us in PC for Pirates and Animators for Formal.

I'm supposed to be called off work tonight (even the hospitals are having to do furloughs) for low census. I'm hoping I am!

I know the person that said there wasn't a rotation on April 4th, well that cruise should have been completely full since it was Spring Break a lot of places and the week before Easter.

We picked late seating due to figured families w/younger kids would pick early. Our first cruise, we ended up getting early since there is only 2 of us.

If someone has a large table (8) & have 2 or 4 spots open; go ahead & request we sit together. I know Diane was looking into sitting w/us but if we can add more DISers that would be fun!!!

How do we link each other?

Just looked at the DCL website and all categorys 4-11 are still available on our cruise... don't know if that's good or bad?

But, I was reading back thru our thread and there are almost 40 GTY category 12's, so since there are only 13 on the ship, I guess the upgrades will be coming!! ..... I'm just impatient.

Got to remember back when I was trying to get a Category 12 when I said I'd sleep in the engine room to be on the boat... Now I'm thinking a room with a view would be nice...

I just bought DD a bunch of polyester sun dresses for the summer and cruise. NO wrinkles or ironing! :thumbsup2

And I bought a new 7 piece set of luggage from Kohls last week. It was on sale and then I had a 30% off coupon. It was a great deal!

And my kidney stone is killing me. Work tonight and the next 2. Then I'm off for the weekend. Hope I can make it. If not, at least I'm at the hospital already. :rotfl:

I have no idea if we'll get upgraded. I keep reading conflicting info. 1st time cruisers never get upgraded, 1st time are the 1st to get upgraded. Guess I'll just have to wait, which is NOT my strong suit. :rolleyes1:cool2:

So sorry to here about your kindey stone!! Hope it passes on its own.:goodvibes

My kids usually go to bed early at home, but when we vacation, we like to stay in the parks late (we usually take afternoon breaks). I know mine will be going to their respective clubs as soon as they finish eating. I like the idea of getting their food quickly with the new dine and play with the late dining, and enjoying a leisurely dinner with adults. Then going to some of the adult activities after dinner. :goodvibes

what is the dine and play?

what is the dine and play?

A new proram they are trying out where you tell your server you want to dine and play....

They bring the kids food out right away and at 9 they will have a representative from the Kids Club at each restaurant to sign your kids in and take them to the clubs! Late seating only.

Will they for sure be doing this program in June? If so, I will seriously be considering switching. We eat late at home (8pm on weekends), but chose eary because I didn't want the kids eating until 10:30pm and missing the club stuff.

I am filling out the on-line check in paperwork. Would there be any reason that our triplets (age 8) would need access to charging while in the kids' clubs? Any other reason we should authorize them?

Ok so I just called DCL

Right now they are trying it till May 10th. If people like it then they will keep it.

You tell your server you want the dine and play. The kids food will be brought out faster and approx 45mins after you are seated the kids club people will be there to pick up the kids.

This is a GENIUS plan!!!! I really hope they keep it!!!!!!!!

Isn't everyone is going to try to switch to late seating.... how is that going to work?

Should I request waitlist for early hoping everyone will want late if they still have this option?

No I don't think everyone will try to switch. Most people like main dining....hence why it is always full.

We have young daughters and we prefer late. We never missed anything in the clubs. DH or I would just have the girls eat and take them to the clubs and then finish our meal. If they do this program it would just save us from having to interupt our meal.

One of the reasons I liked late seating was so our DD's could fully enjoy the shows. When a show does not start till 8:15 they would get so tired in there. There were many nights when DH was carrying back sleeping kids to the room.

Either way there will be young kids at late seating. It is a Disney Cruise and yes there will always be kids of all ages.

I just really hope they keep this program!!! It is a win win for everyone. Even those who prefer not to dine with little kids it will help them. The kids won't be forced to sit through a long meal. Then they won't have to listen to whinning kids! LOL

We will still do early dine do to in part my oldest has low blood sugar issues and needs to eat more often and if I don't make sure he will sometimes forget to eat and just play and so we like to make sure he eats good early.:)
It just works better for us to do early dine.:) So we will not switch to late.;)

Last time I looked main dining was avail for our cruise now so you would not have to be on a waitlist if you wanted main.

That's a tough one... my DD had privileges at 13. She had to let me know when she wanted to purchase something but did use it for the internet & arcade. I don't know what is in the kids club that they would need to charge.

Just to DCL once again today...:lmao:

He said main dining was back for a short period but is gone again. If however you are on a waitlist it should be fine.

The cruise is starting to fill up he said. They are still not in GTY for any catergories yet but are getting close.

They did however bring back the military discount. That was gone for the last couple of weeks but they have brought it back. Still no FL resident rates.

2A 2K regular price in a CAT 11 would be $5,920.60 with military discount $3460.60. That is a pretty good savings! CAT 9 is only $200 more. A part of me wanted to take the CAT 9 but we would then have our rooms split up on different decks. I was so hoping he would say that there was a CAT 10 on deck 5 open but no such luck!!!

I asked him about the Dine and Play and he said that they are getting great feedback about it already!:banana::banana:

I was just on DCL ~ they have 8 rooms available for each cat 4-11 still. Does that include GTY for cat 12 or are those rooms already be assigned?
