6/13/2009 Western on Magic- Our Cruise Chat Continues!

Thanks to all the fellow Dis-ers for such a magical cruise! We had a great WDW post trip - even meeting up with our table mates, Glen, Marion, Jan and Gwen in Epcot to enjoy some rides together! We got to Balto late last night, and on the flight back, I realized I did not book us flights back to Houston! (was waiting for fares to go down!) DH met up with us on Sat at WDW and goes back to Houston on June 28th. So now DD, DS and I are staying until July 8th which is OK by us 'cause the weather is in the 80's here and its 101 in Fulshear, TX. Of course it was 107 yesterday at WDW with the heat index! Kept the crowds fairly low at the parks, I believe!
We have so many fond memories! We can't wait to cruise again! We booked 2 cruises on board - July 6th 2010 Northern Baltics and a dummy cruise for the Panama Canal crossing when it comes out!

We just got back late last night and still catching up on things. I think it will take me several days to get back on track!

Thanks so much everyone for the FE gifts!! Hope you liked the DCL tag/bookmarker and or scrapbook tag we made you all. The boys helped me with them. It was so nice meeting most of you and wish we could have met more of everyone!
Everyones FE gifts were WONDERFUL!!!!! I am still tired from this trip!!
We are back to Daniels health issues!! His liver count is still not good so he has to have more blood work and doing a sonogram of his liver next Wed.
Odd thing?? Even though he has had all boster shots for the HipB ( his latest blood work shows as if he hasn't had them?) But his immune system looks good and kiddney still look good so far just his liver is not looking good???? They checked him to see if he has issues with wheat byproducts and looks good. Everything over all looks good but his liver count still keeps going up?????? Oh, I wish I could help him!!

We also had such a great time!!! My kids, husband and I loved the unexpected surprises from each gift y'all left in our FE. It was our first time participating and weren't sure what to expect. We were overwhelmed from your generosity!!!! A big thanks to everyone!

We also rebooked a dummy date, looking forward to transferring to the Wonder Panama Canal when it comes out. Any idea what the dates may be? What were the last two Westbound PC dates?

As a side note, does anyone know whatever happened to the guy they couldn't find after reboarding in Key West? Did he ever get back on? Was he ok?

The guy in Key West was in a car accident and missed the ship but Disney took care of flying his to meet us in Grand Caymen.

That is sad about the guy and car accident and hope he is alright.

And just now reading back a few pages and so sorry to here that many have gotten sick after the cruise.

I sure hope everyone that has been sick is feeling better now! And BTY ---What is sea lice?

Beth, I could not agree with you more!!! I've been looking on various websites to plan our next cruise! I always like to have one planned so that I always have a countdown clock. We have Thanksgiving week off here in FL so I'm sure we'll cruise, just not on DCL due to their super high holiday fares. (I can do the Med with air for two cheaper than a 7 night DCL that week.)

Thanks again for all the great FE's. That was so much fun for Morgan.

Hey, everyone! I am finally caught up on things at home and able to spend some time on the DISboards!

My boys and I had a terrific time on the cruise and we wanted to thank you all for the terrific FE gifts! They were so excited to go through everything that was given, and we sure do appreciate it! My poor niece (who's family was not participating in the FE exchange) kept asking if she was going to be getting stuff, too! You all were so generous that we were able to share a lot of our "loot" with her. THANK YOU!!!!!!!

I know!! Hey Fran we went and saw the model villas for Bay Lake Towers at Saratoga Springs when we were there- they look AWESOME!! We loved them-they had the studios and 1 bedroom- both were very big and it looked so sleek and modern. We will definately be staying there in the next few years- and Steve said we will possibly add on there when we sell our house!!

We will definately be staying there in the next few years- and Steve said we will possibly add on there when we sell our house!!

We have been doing alot of reading and looking up things about DVC and BLT during this last week. We have gotten very excited about it all. Since we have all of this years points into to bank, we are looking at booking two weeks next year. I think we will do 4 days in a studio MK view and 1 week in a 1 bedroom standard view both at BLT. Then we want to do 4 day at AKV in a savannah view. This would let us really slow down and maybe even relax while at the WDW. Between the points and our flight credit, this trip will be quite different than the past.

Oh and I am sure we will be adding on points as well in the near future. BTW, I sent you an email.

Tell Steve - he is converting to a Disney Fanatic. (first he agrees to rebook and now he is talking of adding on points again) He might as well give in and admit it. You know that is the first step. LOL

We had originally rebooked for the Western Halloween 10/30/2010 cruise but have just recently decided to switch it over to an Eastern in December 2010 instead, which I am SUPER excited about, since it will be our first Eastern cruise!!! Plus as a bonus Denise and fam will be there, whoop whoop!!!

LOL - the 12/4/10 sailing was the dummy date that DCL used! I hope you all can make it that date!! I'm wondering how cold the water would be at that time of year -- the water on Castaway Cay was PERFECT, IMO, when we were there (what seems like forever ago!)

Donna, we sailed around the same time last year and and the weather was beautiful! Plus the ship is decorated for Christmas and it is so pretty! I would have to disagree with you about the water on Castaway though Compared to last time we sailed, the water was dirty and not at all cool or refreshing. I am not a fan of having seaweed stuck to my face I much preferred Castaway in December to June, I suppose the summer storms play a part in the amount of debris around, so personally I will most likely not sail at that time of year again. I like the warm tropical weather, but IMO it was borderline miserable the day we were at Castaway this time But ya know what they say opionons are like........ At any rate we still had a blast and can't wait to sail again!!!!!

we sailed over NYE the past 3 years and the water temp then was cold. The weather was beatiful one cruise and cold on one and iffy the other, but those were to the Bahams, I'm sure the other destinations are great that time of the year!
