5th Park at WDW

No, I wasn't really joking.

Or how about this idea, if Disney wants 5 parks maybe they can split Epcot into 2 parks: Future World and World Showcase. Of course they'd have to beef up each part with a few new attractions, but it'd still be a heck of a lot cheaper than building an entirely new park.

P.S. I'm joking here. Sort of.

I was thinking this before I got to your post. Epcot and the World Show case never really "jelled" for me. They should expand the World Show case to become a separate, more adult venue and maybe add a Pleasure Island like venue.
The future (whatever you call it) portion of Epcot could then concentrate on rides and attractions. I would say make it Star Wars Land but DS is the better place for it. I just wish things were better thought out in the mess that is TL at MK, Epcot and a possible SW land at DS.

In the perfect world WDW would add a Star Wars land to DHS. Keep doing the Pandora Land to AK(not my favorite movie but Disney is banking on the franchise). Than add a 5th gate focused on Disney Villians if I had my wish. All within a decade, where is Eisner when you need him?

No don't bring back Eisner!

I predict a major overhaul and re-theming of the Studios way before we get a 5th park.

Why not? Yes he raised prices but we got 1 new water park, 2 new theme park, and revamp DD, and a couple new hotels. At least I could see where my money was going. With Iger prices are rising and I don't see donkey scat.

he did do a lot for the parks tho without him there would be no AK.

Yes Eisner did very good during the 90's, but by the end of his time as leader he had run his course. He went from coming up with amazing ideas to coming up with things like Stiches Great Escape. He also eventually got to the point where he thought that people would buy or do anything as long as Disney was attached to it. He started out with great ideas like Port Disney, Westcot, Fire mountain ect, but then look at the parks that opened near the end of his term. The original DCA and WDS. Both terrible parks and only one has actually pulled itself out of the hole while the other is working on it. Eisner was the main push behind Superstar Limo!! SUPERSTAR LIMO!! Arguably the worst Disney ride EVER! So yes he did do great things like Animal Kingdom and the other major expansions for Disney, but still lets get some new blood.

Yes and one of those theme parks was the original DCA with rides like Superstar Limo. I mean he did good things like I said before, but he ran his usefulness. Just because you are building something doesn't mean you are building quality things. This is why I have tried to be as patient as possible with the Mine Train. Yes it is taking forever, but it looks like the quality and detail of the ride will be exceptional.

I agree with you there but everyone has their good times and bad times.

Based on how the mine train is looking these last couple days it looks absolutely stunning. The detail in it is looking great, one thing disney does best is details, they don't show any of the underground stuff or large metal structures like six flags. I'm also having high hopes for avatar yes not the best movie but what they can do to make it into a theme park could be possibly some of the best work disney has ever done.

I agree 100%. The detail is amazing. When it is finished it will seem like you are going through the forest on the seven dwarfs.

Of course and that I understand. Eisner did some great things and came up with some amazing ideas. I believe if Westcot and Port Disney had been funded that we would have seen the Disneyland resort become a multi day destination. I think eventually he became convinced that cheap was the only way to go. He saw his projects were not being funded due to being expensive so he started to lose heart. He did good but I also think he was ready to be done. Iger is the same way. Iger has done some very good things for the company. Some of his better achievements would be the remodel of DCA, Shanghai Disneyland and the expansion plans for Hong Kong Disneyland. (He was involved with those right?)

Well DCA he had to redo so yes he was involved. Shanghai was him as well. I would also assume Hong Kong too. Don't forget he of course did NFL, and got avatar, and disney springs.

I forgot about Disney Springs, but I was scared to mention NFL. I wasn't sure how the people on this thread thought about NFL. I know some people don't like it.

once the mine train is done I think it will be great what's so bad about it. Be our guest is arguably the best restaurant in MK. Everything is so detail oriented. I don't see why some people dislike it so much.

Mine Train has to be stunning after the huge disappointment that is Ariel's Undersea Adventure.

As for BoG, I really want to eat there, but the food choices leave me non-plussed. I would consider lunch, but I haven't heard good things about quality of food for lunch.

We had a VERY good lunch at BOG. Honestly before that we never ate meals at MK because the food was lets be blunt....crap. Yet we now plan to eat at BOG once every trip for lunch from now on.

The Little Mermaid attraction was a huge let down to me, it just seemed idk? lazy? the best part is the exterior lol. I do have high hopes for the mine train. I really hope the new mine train shows imagineers have not lost the “magic” factor. Please for the love of god let some amazing things happen by the end of the decade. Maybe Universal’s big push with lightning boy plus the huge success with Frozen will put Disney back in the spotlight.

There was a write up in my recent DVC publication about the animatronics-- They say " when you see the dwarves, you won't understand what you are seeing" or something like that. Like cartoons come to life. Some blend of animatronic and projection mapping I guess. Should be cool. I hope the ride slows sufficiently for the "story" portions of the ride. or even stops like Everest.
