598 pts...what would you do?

We have 695 points to use every year, and we have no problem using them!! If we had more, I'm sure we could put them to good use also!

Totally agree! It is just DH and me. And we have no problem using our 800 points. But we do take people with us quite a bit. We also give stays as gifts from time to time. I just love having the ability to give our DD and soon to be DSIL a week at BCV for their honeymoon in September. Plus, we still have enough points to enjoy a great trip for us too.

PS - I am so excited about their honeymoon. It will be DSIL's first time to WDW. Can you believe it?!? Wait till he sees that 1-bedrrom at BCV. I bet he will be sold on WDW with that alone.

Thought I'd post this on the forum to see if anyone has some good ideas what to do with 598 DVC points this year. We banked 298 last year and have 300 this year.

Wanted to use them for a cruise, but that window is now closed, as we just got off the Wonder. So, if you had that many points what vacation would you choose?

Have you considered visiting Tokyo Disney Resort? The Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea theme parks are simply amazing, and the Tokyo Disney MiraCosta Hotel is directly above the entrance to Tokyo DisneySea with rooms overlooking the theme park. There are a total of four Disney hotels at the resort where DVC points can be used.

Attendance at the Tokyo Disney Resort theme parks has peaks and valleys larger than the US-based parks. Avoid Japanese holiday periods such as Golden Week for a much more pleasant experience. Off season on a quiet day, each park is simply amazing!

Each park is worth a full day's visit at the very least, and for a thorough experience, plan three park days with the third day a "hopper" day, or four park days for an extremely thorough experience. Tickets are a little cheaper per day than the US parks per-day price (depending on variations in JPY/USD exchange rates). On a one-day ticket or two-day ticket, you pick which park you plan to visit each day at the time of purchase. On a three (or four) day ticket, for the first two days you pick which park you plan to visit each day, and then day three (and four) work as "hopper" tickets. Because the parks have the potential for huge peaks in attendance, tickets are sold for specific dates at the time of purchase, so that ticket sales can be cut off if the park is full.

OMG this is an excellent suggestion! While we won't be able to do it this year, this is what we are doing next year! We've often thought about going to Japan, so why not next year! LOL

BTW, for this year's points we are going to do the dream sometime in October. We just need to determine what/where/when and how many days. Right now I'm thinking back to back 5 night then 4 night. While we won't have that many pts for both cruises, we can pay for one and use the pts for the other.

Thanks everyone for posting! Some with 600-800 pts not sure how you use all of them. I get three weeks of vacation, plus floating holiday and banked days off when I work 6 days. I'm on a cruise fix for some reason, but who doesn't like deck 4 with a book or iPod? :rotfl2:

thought I'd post we are officially booked on the Dream b2b in October and staying 2 nights at WDW prior and 1 after the cruise all for 501 pts. We still have pts to bank for next year.

I wasn't expecting to get both cruises and nights at world with the pts we had, but to even bank some I found to be a real good deal. Not to shabby going in the value season.

Thanks for all the suggestions. We have some ideas for next year's vacation, including a MR and Alaska cruise plus a trip to Japan! Lots to think about and decide which two of the three we will do.

We had banked points this year -- though not quite as many. We reserved a 2 BR @ Kidani -- our home is SSR. So,we are trying something new and trying something a bit bigger than our normal accommodations. This will be fun but I'm afraid our DD 10 will think that this is the norm. :rotfl2:

I think you will like the two bedroom. We really loved the 1br in January and AKL is my favorite resort. No problem getting the room in October, but likely to be taken shortly after the 7 month window opens for everyone else to make reservations.

Enjoy your WDW stay.

Sounds like a great plan/vacation. Glad you got it all worked out.
