You don't know me Pembo but I have been cheering ( and praying) for you during your ordeal!
I am so sorry that you are feeling this frustration. I think it is a pretty normal part of the recovery process though. Human beings - and especially mothers- want to just hit the ground running. We are never used to being sick for more than a day or two (LOL) that's all our families and ourselves will allow. When we really DO have a doozy to recover from, and sweetipie, YOU have HAD a DOOZY, that slow process is hard to take.
Sometimes post op, a transient (situational) depression settles in that a bit of meds might help to shake off. Talk to your doctor about it, if it hangs on for much longer. He/She may just suggest a little fresh air and sunshine. Sit in a chair outside, perhaps being taken for a ride in the car (if permissable). Are you getting enough rest? Real rest- as in- take a real nap, kind of rest? You cannot heal if you do not get adequate rest. What about nutrition? Are you eating well? Nutrition and hydration are also vital to healing.
My mom fell and broke her hip 2 yrs ago. They put her on antidepressent meds post op right away. When we asked about this they told us that they do it routinely for their "hip patients" because the recovery and rehab time is lengthy and almost all the patients got "depressed" about it. My mother spent 20 years obsessing that she might "fall and break her hip". When she actually did it she just laid there in the bed and said "see, I told you this would happen". She didn't have a very good rehab-attitude. We had to all just push and push and push her.
Try your best to maintain a good positive attitude and know that you family loves you and that you have tons of friend here that are wishing you well and are willing to lend you an ear, or a shoulder anytime you need it.
Hugs to you,
Stacilee
