I have often wondered about the cost of remodeling. I have a 3 BR home but I really need another bedroom as I have 4 kids. It is my understanding that it is very costly to add on though. I will be looking for any comments given on this thread too.

Sounds good to me. We have a formal living room we never use, I think one day it will become a pool table room. How are you going to integrate one doorway. We looked at houses in Florida where you had to walk through a bedroom to get to another one. I don't really like that idea. Good luck with your remodeling.

I think that you'll hurt the value of the home if you decrease the size of the master bedroom. You might want to consider asking a realtor.
