50th Anniversary Merchandise

I did not write the post above. Anyway we were there last week. I bought a sweatshirt, the gold one. I wanted a magnet, had none. A Christmas ornament, had none. This was on Oct. 10. We only went to DS and Epcot. If this celebration last 18 months, and most things are already gone, what are they going to do for the next 17 months? We happened to be at DS the night they released the Halloween popcorn bucket. People had 5 of them hanging off their arms. It was crazy! I didn’t want one, so no big deal for me. I do feel that Disneys merch and selections has gone downhill. I used to buy 5 or 6 glass Mickey ornaments. Now 90% are sketchbook ornaments. So sad. I started charm bracelets for my granddaughters years ago. That was the first thing they asked about when I got home. They don’t make them anymore, or at least no one knew about them, and I could not find them. I hated Creations, loved Mousegears. A lot has changed since I was there 2 years ago, and not for the better.

I almost bought this coffee mug as a gift for someone, but decided to wait (mistake). When I went back for it later, it was sold out.

Presumably, other than the "day of" exclusive items, a lot of these items will be restocked throughout the year (although I don't know for sure what Disney's distribution plan is). But the question is when? And will they sell out immediately every time they hit the shelves? So, unless you're there on the right day, will we be out of luck?

Agreed, that really is the question. We'll be there next month, hopefully find some of the stuff in stock.

I bought the 50th crocs the day they were released and love them! I bought two October 1 limited edition magic bands on eBay…way, way overpriced, but I really love it. I would have purchased it in the park, but we were at home on October 1. I can’t wait to wear the magic band next month! The other thing I bought was one of the 50th reusable bags. My DD didn’t want anything except the magic band from eBay.

How do you know if a magic band on eBay is legit?

There was LOTS more stuff we didn't buy. I would have loved to get the complete set of attraction pins, but wasn't willing to spend that much, so I picked my two favorites.

I wanted that mug too. Then I saw it in person. It’s beautiful but I decided it’s just too big. I don’t have that much cupboard space, lol. Of course I regret not getting it. We’ll be back in the spring, maybe I’ll be tempted again.

Aside from a few things in the Vault collection, I just bought a 50th anniversary pin and a passholder 50th anniversary pin.
And the foaming hand soap but I don't think it's part of the 50th collection, I just really wanted to have it.
