50's PT and Star Wars fireworks

I have a large party of 13 and the only 50's PT I could get was 7:50pm. If Star Wars fireworks continues through December with a 9:30 timeframe. would we be out of 50's PT in time? It has been my experience that we have had to wait about 20 minutes the few times I have gone and it could be worse with a large party unless we try arriving early.

We haven't been down in December for a few years, but that seems very late to me for fireworks at the Studios. If I'm remembering correctly, that time of year the park closes earlier - 8 or 9pm; and fireworks were at closing time. Things may be different now, this is a new show.

If the fireworks remain at 9:30pm, I probably wouldn't bet on being out in time. Even if you're seated on time, it will take longer for the food to come out together, everyone to eat, settle the bill, etc. I'm the "coordinator" for our group of 10 that travels together and have found that everything moves slower in a group - reviewing the menu, ordering, food coming out, etc etc. Even walking! Your best bet is to show up early and hope to be seated earlier.

We just returned with a group of 9. We had late reservations and tried to show up early and it never happened. When I did finally ask one of the hosts they indicated that anyone with a reservation ahead of your original time will always be seated before you no matter how early you arrive, so unless you have a slew of people who just do not show up you will most likely end up at your original reservation time. The host was very helpful and open, and said even showing up an hour early, usually ends up with no earlier seating than your original time.

Though hours can change, they currently show HS closing at 7 p.m. in November and December. I wouldn't expect the fireworks to be at 9:30 even if the park stays open later. Keep looking for an earlier ADR if you want to do both.
