50's Prime Time Shenanigans?

Back in May I heard that Whispering Canyon was stopping its shenanigans and that Prime Time cafe was next on the chopping block. Has anyone heard anything further? Do they still badger you at 50's?

I didn’t experience any during our 2017 trip and very little during our 2015 trip.

This past June at 50's there were some in my seating area, but not from my server. It was entertaining to watch. I was solo, so my server was pretty low key with me, but still did some of the schtick. They have always been cognizant of if people in the group are willing to play along or not. If you don't want the shenanigans, let them know when you arrive before being seated.

Loads of shenanigans at our table last August! I really think it’s just a matter of which server you get vs overall restaurant policy. I’ve had other years where the servers didn’t participate at all.

We have always experienced great fun with the servers at 50's Prime Time. Our last visit was in January and that was probably the most fun we have had with a CM there. I can't remember her name but she was fantastic. We do notice that the CMs at 50's Prime Time are very good at reading people. We really enjoy the shenanigans so we make sure to start egging our CM on as soon as they call us to be seated. We have been in the restaurant, however, when the vast majority of tables we have been able to see clearly were not comfortable with the joking around so the place seemed much "tamer" that it usually does. During our trip in January it seemed like everyone in the restaurant was really into it so it was a really fun atmosphere.

We were there in May, and there was definitely some shtick...but our host's personality meshed well with my father in law's.

We all got clean plate club stickers.

We ate there in early June. While we were seating the server discreetly asked me if the fun was O.K. I told him to heap it on and we had a blast. All of the servers in our area were incredible.

I've seen at least two recent posts indicating no difference in the "shenanigans" at Whispering Canyon. Of course with either place, it can be dependent on which server you get.

DH and I are more of the quiet, reserved types. Friendly but not outgoing. Our server at 50s Prime Time apparently didn't read this well as she took a fork full of DH's unfinished collard greens and force-fed him at our table causing a scene. LOL! It was hilarious and even though he was embarrassed (and grossed out lol), it was all in good fun. This happened last summer. My point is that I would not recommend dining here if the thought of that gives you anxiety. Its all still happening, to my knowledge.

I'm on the fence about stopping at a sit-down at a park (although last time we did both Dine with an Imagineer and Sci-Fi Drive-In and were able to do everything we wanted to - but the park had extended hours that day) due to new things (Besides TSL, all the SW stuff is new to us) but the shenanigans would be the deciding factor. I'm not sure it's still worth it if it's just kitschy decor but the atmosphere is tame?

We were there in June, plenty of shenanigans! Had a blast watching our server spoon-feed my teenage DS his peas!

For us it was just kitschy decor, okay food, and not that attentive service. We also had to watch the server do a bunch of stuff with another table (she even sat down with them for a bit). It wasn't awful or anything, just not worth it.

We have never experienced shenanigans at 50's. I've seen many other tables having a good time, but we have yet to have a decent (even in regular terms) server there. We go back for the food and the opportunity to see other people having a good time.

It was one of our favorites last time, food was very good, reminded my of my great aunt's house in the 60's, lots of nostalgia, and just the right amount of playfulness, IMO. The female servers hassled my husband, their "cousin", doubting if he had washed his hands in the bathroom. He said he did, but then they asked him what color the soap was. He guessed incorrectly, and they scolded him, telling him that was the wrong color. But then he said, "And how would you GIRLS know what color the soap is in the BOYS' bathroom?" They acted hilariously shocked and mortified =D But that was 10 years ago. I made an ADR for our December trip, hope it's as much fun as I remember.

Same here except we won't be going back. Not because we didn't experience shenanigans, but because we've been disappointed in the food more than once and our service has always been meh.

Yeah, still fun servers there but nothing like what it used to be. I remember being made to stand in a corner back in the nineties for lying about finishing my veggies. Still love it though and go every trip.
