It's been a few years since we've been to the 50's PT. I remember the fried chicken having like 3 pieces of chicken(?) For anyone who has eaten there recently and can compare to years prior, are the portion sizes still the same? We are a family who like to eat, but don't want to necessarily pig out or waste food. Wondering if the chicken platter is splitable (for lunch) between two women... then maybe some desert?

As I recall, it's half chicken or 4 pieces. I think you can get all white meat or all dark meat if you have a preference.
I think it's enough for 2 people to share for a 'light' lunch.

dh and i always split the fried chicken and we're both happy when we're thru. Of course, I always get the s'more to opt it off. :)

We were there last October, and it was out first time, so I have nothing to compare our portions too. DH got the fried chicken and could barely finish it (and he REALLY like to eat;) ) I got the tuna casserole, and I also barely finished it....I think their portions are larger than many of Disney's other restaurants if I remember correctly.

My husband and I got the sampler platter of meatloaf (1 slice), roast beef (1 ice cream scoop portion) and fried chicken (2 pieces of dark meat) with green beans (regular serving) and mashed potatoes (regular serving). Great bargain and we split it. Excellent lunch for us. Portions are way too big for normal eaters, in my opinion.

Thank you all of you for your feedback! I remember the portions being larger but with the economy, wasn't sure if they'd scaled back. I'm sure DD and I will be fine splitting the chicken, and maybe nibble off the men's portions as well. And yes, I was counting on a shared Smore's :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Had it for lunch and was not able to finish the portion. It was the best fried chicken I have ever had. Had I not had an appetizer, I would have demolished it and had been full. :thumbsup2

Yes, they are very generous in all of their portions there. I don't think any of us were able to clean our plates. Even under pressure from our waitress/Mom. Combined with the PB&J milkshake....I waddled out of there. :lmao:

Their portions are so huge to us we can never finish our meal and always have to get our dessert to go!

We're going on the DxDP and I've booked a lunch there for our party, mostly to please my MIL who is an absolute 50's nostalgia nut.

People rave about the onion rings, fried chicken, and milkshakes and I'm very tempted to try all 3. However, I'm somewhat concerned that this will be so much food that I won't be a bit hungry for our signature dinner that night (even though our 50's PT ADR is for 11:30 am).

Maybe I should just accept the fact that I probably won't be cleaning my plate (and suffer the inevitable scolding from the CM :rolleyes1).
