Ok..so I just booked a ressie there. I know its connected to Hollywood & Vine and have only got to "peak" in the door.

How is it? Really?

We love it. It's definitely in our top 5. The food is really good, the atmosphere is a lot of fun, and you can have a great time if you want to.

Some folks have felt uncomfortable with all the goofiness. We totally get into it. But you can let your server know if you'd rather just eat. We love sitting at a TV table and watch all the little show highlights from the 50's. The furniture and decorations are all authentic. You don't even get a beeper while you're waiting for a table. Why - because there was no such thing in the 50's :rotfl: They just yell your name!

Its not really connected to Hollywood & Vine. It's just in the same "row" of buildings.

HMMM..then I have no idea what I was peaking into...lol

They are in fact connected - they share the same restrooms! They are connected by the same hallway leading to restrooms, so you can peak into each restaurant from that hallway or quiet frankly walk right thru each restaurant.

We also love it! My fav is pot roast, kiddos love Fried Chicken, DH loves their steak. Who couldnt love the onion rings & s'mores as well!

Its super fun...or as fun as you want it to be :)

The waitstaff will look to you to see how "into" the fun you want to be. Lots of fun quirky things they can/will do.

The food is yummy, but like any restraunt it will get bad reviews too. The food is "like mom used to make".

Its a must do on our list :thumbsup2

It can be very fun with the right attitude and server. The food is good, nothing special though so don't expect a great tasting meal. We usually go every couple trips.

We really liked 50's Prime! I would definitely go there again. The food is good...nothing spectacular but definitely good. The atmosphere is great and your server can certainly enhance your visit!
I say GO!

Been a favorite of mine since I was a kid and can't remember a trip where I didn't go (including a trip with summer camp when I was 14 and trip with Junior High School when I was 12). My girlfriend and I usually eat there for lunch on our DHS day (we are usually done with the park by mid-afternoon). The food has always been good, some of the "moms", "aunts", "cousins", "uncles", etc. get into more than others and they are usually pretty good with figuring out how far they can go with the antics with your individual party. It's pretty much the only restaurant at DHS we'll eat at.

We went on our recent trip and were disappointed. My daughter really wanted some antics, but our server wasn't playing! She was pleasant, but it was like eating anywhere else (except for the theming). The server in the section next to us seemed really fun though! My DD even tried blowing straw wrappers at me etc., but nothing.

Food was good, don't get me wrong, we were just looking for a little more fun and it didn't happen.

We love it too, the pot roast and fried chicken are our favorites. Also the fried boursin cheese is a great appitizer.

I guess I understood "connected" as being part of the same restaruant - like half is the buffet and half is the sit-down. They are "connected" by being in one giant building with bathrooms in the middle. So sorry for the confusion.

We love it! You must try the peanut butter and jelly shake very tasty!

Another person who LOVES IT!! :thumbsup2

Took DS18 there in '08, both first timers then... REALLY enjoyed our time there. It was the most memorable part of the trip actually. LOVE Dad's brownie! Met a lovely couple from England who was sitting besides us who we chatted with throughout our time there.

Going to take my DS16 and 'rents there for their first time next year! Can't wait!!!

We ate there a few days ago for my dd's sweet sixteen trip. We had Cousin Mike and he was the BEST! We never laughed so much - he was a blast and kept the girls in tears. All our food was great (chicken sandwiches, meatloaf and fried chicken) as well. He brought a bday card for my dd signed by all the waitstaff and a huge birthday cupcake. The whole area was signing Happy Birthday too. I think it was one of the highlights of her birthday trip. We will definitely be going back and of course will request cousin Mike!

We love it. The chocolate shakes are the best I have ever had in my life-not kidding!!

we ate there last Thursday- only appetizers as we had eaten a lot during the day...good atmosphere, terrific service and everyone had a lot of fun...get the milkshake- its like a sundae and getting dessert w/your dinner....

when I asked where everyone wanted to go this year? 50's was on everyones list!! We had a great meal last time when we were there in Dec. our server was a lot of fun.

The crabcakes were really good! as well as the pot roast and fried chicken! I didnt drink my malt.. my son did, and he was :lovestruc

4 weeks to go!! :)

Food is great and the atmosphere is very fun. It's definitely something that you should try once.....and get a milkshake!

Get a PB&J milkshake when you go. It sounds like a really weird combo, but it's really, REALLY good as long as you like a PB&J sandwich normally.

I love it, the fried chicken and Dad's Ice Cream Sundae are yum. The wait staff are all really fun but even though I am an adult I always worry I am going to get yelled at for not eating my vegetables. ;)
