50's PRIME TIME CAFE

LOVE IT!

We go every trip! The pot roast... hmmm... (we've shared the pot roast a couple of times and they put it on seperate plates)
milkshakes:lovestruc

When we go we ask for a "fun" server, and they write on our ticket "wants to play".

We love this restaurant. This was one of the few places my DH said we had to go to again on this trip!!

Has anyone had experience with "sharing" here?
Yes, we've shared the fried chicken and the meatloaf before. It was plenty of food. In fact, when I don't share with someone, quite often I wind up with leftovers in a box. :)

I love 50's
The waiters and waitresses are hilarious, and the food is super good. The fried chicken is my favorite.. and the milk shakes are delicious as well

Has anyone had experience with "sharing" here? We're going for lunch and we'll either share a dish or pay for kids' meals OOP.

The table next to us shared lunch. (They were willing to shell out the moolah for the $8 cocktails, but not for a meal  ). Anyways, they did it with no problem, but you could tell towards the end of the shared meal they were fighting over it.

I went there for the first time in March and loved the experience. The waitresses in our section were hilarious. I ate my meal but didn't eat my greenbeans so I covered them with my napkin. Bad mistake. Our waitress came back and discovered that I didn't eat my veggies so she took a big forkful of them and shoved them in my mouth. Said I couldn't have dessert until I ate them. :rotfl2:

There was a family near us that kept putting their elbows on the table so they had to get up and sing "I'm a little teapot" The father didn't do a good enough job so he had to do it by himself, complete with hand motions.

Another group had a cell phone at their table ring so the waitress took the phone from them and told the person that it was dinner time and they needed to call back later.

We have had mixed experiences at 50's PT over the years. The CM's are touch and go in that place...sometimes our server goes all out and has us having the time of our lives and then other times the servers didn't do anything in character and just served us our food, which was very disappointing. For us, the food is diner style food we would get at home, but all the comfort stuff. I think you definitely have to try it at least once and see for yourself. :thumbsup2

We love the food. If you are looking for quality homestyle food, this ie a great spot (and not just by Disney sandards). I really like the pot roast and fried chicken. I kinda embarased myself here though because I was the only one out of our party to eat their whole meal, and I then ate the rest of my mom's streak, and a piece of chicken from both my wife and dad. It is one of my fav spots to eat, and the atmosphere is great as well, especially if you get a waiter/waitress that really plays the role well.

I am glad to hear such good reviews. We have a lunch booked and I wasn't sure it was the right choice....we'll find out soon I guess. Thanks!:thumbsup2

We enjoy it! I love their fried chicken! My DS loves their milkshakes. The atomosphere is fun, it is a good time!

If the waiters/waitresses send you to the corner, how long do you stand there and can you just go sit back down? :scared: We made ADRs here and don't think anyone would enjoy being sent away. ;)

One of the servers had my mom (63yrs old then) hold a packet of sugar up against the wall with her nose for misbehaving.:rotfl2: As soon as the server turned his back she sat back down.. no problem...

This place is alot of fun if you get a good server. our server knew we wanted to play along. The server also asked my mom if she thought she could do a better job? he proceeded to take off his apron and put it on her. He told her to go take someones order and walked out...

Then she asked him what the meatloaf looked like? He took her by the hand and brought her into another room where a biker guy in leather and chains was eating meatloaf. he told the biker guy "she wanted to know what the meatloaf looks like" and he walked away and left her there:yay:

We had so much fun and it truly was one of the best experiences of our trip:thumbsup2

I am really looking forward to eating here, it sounds like my kids will have a blast! It's me, DH, and an 8, 7, and 4 year old. I had to call 3 times to find a ressie, and it's at separate tables. :scared1: I know they do their best to put you together, but if we are apart, will it be horrible? I guess it's better than not going at all, but still more fun if we aren't separated, you know?

I am so excited about going to the 50's when we go in Nov. My kids and even my husband who can be a prude at times is looking forward to it. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us!

We have an ADR for Sept. and the comfort food aspect sounds great--but just one thing I Hate green beans--can you substitute anything? We love to play along --but if my server tries to force feed me green beans or spinach -I'll vomit(sorry). do the CM's know when to "take it easy" on someone? Any advice-comments?

The fried chicken I had there was excellent and the experience is always lots of fun!

I think they can tell if you "want to play"... :upsidedow
