It seems to me that everyone is always commenting about the meatloaf/pot roast and fried chicken at the 50's Prime Time Diner. We are planning to go for lunch and don't want anything too heavy. How are the sandwiches & salads there??

I have graduated!!!! I now just split the pot roast and go for the strawberry shake and dessert. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Sorry not much help.

I had the chicken sandwich last month and I thought it was pretty tasty. And so were the smores that followed!!!

Our friend who was with us last trip had the fish sandwich. It was a nice size and he enjoyed it. It looked really good. But be warned, they load on the tarter sauce.

The stacked sandwich (turkey or ham) is really filled with meat. It's the lowest priced item on the menu which is why I got it (in-laws were paying). It's not the most imaginative of sandwiches but a pretty darn good bargain because of the portion of meat you get. The menu says it's served with either a salad or chips but I substituted fries with it. Filled me up nicely.

Only thing I didn't like was the multi-grain bread - not my type of bread but I guess it would be fine for anyone else.

We're planning a lunch there too on our trip in May. I like the fact that the lunch menu is a combination of the homestyle dinner-type foods (fried chicken, meatloaf, pot roast, etc.) and also sandwiches and salads. If you're in the mood for a dinner-type meal great, if not then you have the other items to choose from.

i had the turkey sandwich and it was great not only is the food great but the whole restaurant especially the staff how they are always in character we had uncle dave as our server

I have had the fish sandwich, the chicken sandwich and the stacked sandwich. All were really good. Another thing I like at Prime Time is the chicken pot pie. I know I am in the minority, but I think their pot roast and fried chicken are both mediocre! I love the meatloaf. But at lunch, I prefer a sandwich. My husband and I split the stacked sandwich (I agree its very meaty) and each got a side salad and then split a dessert. It was perfect!

I was able to get the Grilled Salmon Salad (which was a
grilled salmon either a fillet or a steak) it was very good
and not heavy--I still got filled up and could not eat
all of it because of the salad fiber--and was nagged
to finish all my plate so that I could get dessert--
I told them keep the dessert, I didn't want it.
So even if you are trying to eat light they may
try to force you to eat to the point of upset stomach
because of that role that they are playing with (clean your plate).

Not a sandwich or salad, but the Stuffed Roasted Pepper is awesome! :) Lots of veggies and rice. Definitely doesn't weigh you down.

Well I personally had the meatloaf, but oldest dd had the Chicken Ceasar Salad. She seemed to like it, but it's pretty big (she still had a ton left over).

I had forgotten about the chicken noodle soup. From this picture, you can see it's a decent portion. My mother-in-law had that only for her meal and she didn't complain about it so it must have been good. Sure looked good to me.
