Evidently BOTH promotions have been extended through 8/14....I called yesterday and got 30% off our package.....final math figured it up to be approx $450 off our room. So...would you rather the gift card or the discount? I am thinking now that the gift card might be a better route to go - but when it comes down to it - you are saving money either way, right??:confused3

Ya think? That is really where I am leaning....heck - at one time we were scared there would be NO late summer offers and now there are at least TWO!

You say "rooms" in your post. If you have two rooms you will get two gift cards. Is the $450 off of each room?

we worked it out..going a week in may..taking the 30 percent off and buying tickets for the week versus the $500 gift card offer...it worked out to be EXACTLY the same amount. Personally I would rather have the $500 cash in my back pocket than a Disney GC that restricts you to Disney only!!!

EXACTLY what my hubby said!! Think we will stick with the discount!

I looked at it both ways. The GC was more $, but I don't intend to spend $500 on souvies, especially when we spend most of out $ on extras at the Lego Store (not included).

We're using the Gc for some table services, any extra meals (breakfast) and then souvies. Hopefully, I won't have anything I need to pay for with cash once we get onto the property. :goodvibes

One other thing to consider. Are you doing the give a day-get a day tickets? if so, you can basically save 79 dollars off each adult ticket. For my wife and I, that tips the scales in the favor of the % discount because you need to pay rack rates to get the gift card.

I booked two rooms, two reservations numbers, at the same time and I'm getting 2 $500 GC. One for each room.

I had the 30% discount offer but changed my ressie tonight after confirming with 2 CMs that I would get 2 $500 GCs for my 2 rooms. :cheer2:

We were on the QSDP but with the GC offer it allows us some flexibility to go have a couple of TS meals during our stay without having to pay oop for tips for my family of 6.

We are going with the % off. For what we choose the difference is $43 savings picking the giftcard but we do the dining plan and won't spend $500 at Disney. We will spend tips and do souvies at the outlet mall on a strict budget. If I had $500 to spend on whatever at Disney I would just blow it on more stuff to dust.

If the price comes out the same I would use the % off if you are already getting the FP. I don't spend $500 on stuff at Disney except for food.

what EXACTLY can that gift card be used for? :confused3
Is it good for any restaurant?
For room charges? (does that mean you can then pay off anything charged to the room (food) in case you cannot use it at all restaurants?
store purchases,

can anyone elaborate for me? :flower3:

This is my understanding that you can use it pay off charges to your room. This is exactly what we are going to do with it. You could also hang onto it and use it to put a deposit down on your next Disney vacation too! :)

The room gift card can be used for food so that is what we will be doing since I have decided against the dining plan this time :tink:
