500,000 in Italy March Against Bush Visit

I heard about this! Like I said on another thread, The Pope is comparing the prison abuse to 9/11. (ugh)

What a mess Kerry is going to have to clean up.

At least once w is out of a job we'll gain respect in the world again. Or at least start to.

... and the millions which stayed home and behaved and supported Bush's visit.

America hasn't had the respect of the world in a LONG time, it has nothing to do with President Bush!

That's making quite an illogical assertion. I didn't attend the abortion-rights rally in DC, but that doesn't mean that I oppose abortion rights.

I disagree (but I still love your crazy kitty!). :) Just about every nation on this planet was behind America 100% on and after 9/11 -- up and until this Iraq debacle. People from all over the world stood by us and for us in our time of need. I'm not so sure that that would happen now, I'm really not. I hope we never have a chance of finding out either. :(

I absolutely agree with you in regards to 9/11. It was nice to see the majority of countries coming to our aid in our time of need.

However, if we think back to when each of our previous presidents, there has been more negative feelings toward the US than positive ones.

And, thanks for the compliment on Jinx! :teeth:

Ahhh, but w is out in only six short months. Like father, like son, he's only here for one term. But, by all means be optimistic if you like.

And, not to worry, unlike the recent republican administrations, Kerry will win two terms.

It's interesting that other news sources like the BBC are reporting the turnout to be around 25,000. Way less than the "supposed" 500,000.

Ain't no way in hell Bill and Hillary is going to let Kerry win once, let alone twice. It's not part of the plan, in case you haven't been paying attention

I'm beyond optimistic, I'm confident. If Kerry can't make traction now, (and he hasn't), if I'm a Kerry supporter I shudder to think what he will be unable to do once the spotlight is completely on him after the conventions.

But, hey, you go lay some money down in Vegas on a two-term Kerry presidency.

I read the text of the Pope's remarks and didn't see this. Where/When did he say this?
