500,000 in Italy March Against Bush Visit

I can't keep up with the estimates:

Police deployed some 10,000 officers around Rome as an estimated 500,000 protested Bush's arrival and Italy's active support of the U.S. war in Iraq. - Washington Post

I heard about this! Like I said on another thread, The Pope is comparing the prison abuse to 9/11. (ugh)

I thought it was George Soros that said it.

Those are lovely pictures, but they are signs of sympathy, not respect.
Respect: NOUN: 1. A feeling of appreciative, often deferential regard; esteem. See synonyms at regard.
2. The state of being regarded with honor or esteem.
3. Willingness to show consideration or appreciation

Sympathy: NOUN: Inflected forms: pl. sym·pa·thies
1a. A relationship or an affinity between people or things in which whatever affects one correspondingly affects the other. b. Mutual understanding or affection arising from this relationship or affinity.
2a. The act or power of sharing the feelings of another. b. A feeling or an expression of pity or sorrow for the distress of another; compassion or commiseration.

I for one don't really care what the rest of the world think of us. As long as in my heart, I know we did the right thing. And getting rid of Saddam was the right thing to do, whether he had WMD or not. Every country in this world call on the USA for help when they need it, and then blame us when we do something on our own. Don't let them fool you, they wouldn't join us in Irag because we wouldn't let them run the country after Saddam was out. The USA took the lions share of the risk, so we should also be the decision force till they take control for themselfs.

Hey, only five hundred thousand Italians marching against war?

That's way down on their WWII position.

Slam Dunk!!!

Subtract 350,000 and that's what organizers of the protest are saying ;) Police put the number at 25,000. Odds are it was somewhere between the 150,000 and 25,000. In any event, nowhere near half a million.

Ain't no way in hell Bill and Hillary is going to let Kerry win once, let alone twice. It's not part of the plan, in case you haven't been paying attention
You've been listening to the libertarian propaganda again..........haven't you?????

They marched in Western Europe and protested Reagan too....before he freed Eastern Europe.

Five. Hundred. Thousand.

Thousands march in Rome against Bush, war

I am looking at the front page of the 6/5/04 Houston Chronicle which shows the picture of the marchers.

Fist of all, Officials in Rome estimate the crowd 150,000 not half a million.

Now, I can count at least 16 communist flags (red with hammer and sickle).

If the communists want to stand up against George Bush and America, perhaps you should question whether you want to be so happy with the marchers to begin with.

SOTM you were to young to remember the SAME protests in Europe when Ronald Reagan was President. He was a "cowboy riding a nuclear missile" leading all of us in the the nuclear holcaust.

Those people were wrong then, they are wrong now. But I support there right to make fools of themselves.

Great point SOTM. I think the point to be remember here, is how soon we forget. You included!

The most important issue involved with your photo montage is this:

You have not a scintilla of evidence that says any of those mourners feel differently today, than they did on Sep 11th.

You have not a scintilla of evidence that say any of those marchers cried for America on September 11th.

You have not one scintilla of evidence that says that those marcher EVER were on the side of the US.

..and to think....you were the one accusing me of irelevant rhetoric.
