50 minutes for connection in O'hare

We have 50 minutes for connection from terminal 2 to terminal 1 - Never been there ( from Canada).

Any advice is welcome!

I prefer to walk if possible, rather than take the train. I only take the train at O'Hare if it's a long walk to the connecting terminal.

Are you on the same airline and/or partner all the way? ie Air Canada connecting to United? if so, you should be clearing customs in Canada and won't need to collect your luggage and recheck it in Chicago; you should be able to check it all the way through.

50 minutes should be fine if you are not clearing customs and rechecking luggage.

United the whole way - They fly out of Winnipeg now - and we preclear US immigration here preboarding so customs not a problem.

My major concern was perhaps having to flow through security clearances etc between terminals and gates.

Was not sure if there was a courteousy shuttle / golf cart etc that could expedite us. Party of three travelling - me, DW and DD( 5).

You're welcome! I am in O'Hare every few weeks flying United, often from Canada. Having said that, I don't have to change terminals - United flights are out of the B and C concourse, with smaller connections out of F I believe.

If you are flying to Florida, all of the TED flights are usually coralled in one corner of the concourse.

I've never had to change terminals when going from Canada to Florida on United; it may be that you do have to walk from United's C concourse to the B Concourse; this is about 5 minutes on a moving walkway underground (and look at the lights; you'll see them again in the Soarin' waiting area....)

Even if your flight arrives at the far end of one concourse and leaves from the far end of the other, 50 minutes is fine. I often have a 30 minute connection and manage just fine, with a restroom break along the way.

So, you may want to check again and see if you do truly need to change terminals. Did you make that assumption by looking at an online map of O'Hare? Remember, Canada is not always considered 'international' in North America

Looks like your flight is actually operated by SkyWest, which does use the F gates. You can walk from F and there is a line to go through which is for connecting passengers using the B/C gates.

I still find walking faster than the train bwn F and B/C at ORD as it takes some time to exit, get to the platform, wait for the train, get off the platform, exit, etc.
