Only crazy people would go to Epcot tonight, so of course we were there! Couldn't believe the almost hour long wait for Maelstrom - guess we were smart to fp it afterall! And yeah, just about as old and outdated as I remember from 10 years ago when I rode it. Crowds were insane tonight! But it was fun!!

DHS was hopping too. I've waited 45-50 minutes before for that, I said then never again. In a week I can be sure of it.

Maelstrom has about a week left of existence, people are trying to get their last rides in.I have a FP+ for it on October 5th in the middle of the day but I'm also going to try to get in the last boat ever at closing.

We're going to try to standby on the 4th in the evening. All our FP+ are for DHS so fingers crossed we can get one when we hop or we'll be waiting. And we WILL be waiting. So happy to ride it one last time!

Not shocking to see long wait times like that. It's been like that for quite some time now depending on crowd levels. Then add the fact it's closing.

All my trips this year it's generally been about a 30-40 min wait when I've went by it. Rarely have I seen it 20 min or less

That would be very cool....being on the last boat. Enjoy!

We will be trying for standby the same evening. Like you we WILL be waiting. It will be our first and last ride all in one. As it is my first trip to Disney World, and I saw this ride when I first started planning and thought I would like it was sad when it disappeared before I made my fastpass selections. I would change them but as I already have them at AK that morning (I really want to ride the Safari first thing in the morning). Now it would be nice if we can get a 4th FP for it when we go to Epcot that night.

That is just awesome! Let us know of you can get on the very last boat!! :thumbsup2

On September 20th the line for Maelstrom was 45 at 2 p.m. and 90 minutes at 8 p.m. :confused3

This was the first Saturday of F & W, so I'm sure this was a huge factor. Glad we had a FP+

Perhaps it was before Soarin' but I remember wait times for Maelstrom being common years ago (so I typically avoided it)

The past several it was mostly a walk-on.

You could call most Disney rides old and outdated. We happen to like the Maelstrom and rode it every time we went. (DH's dad is Norwegian)

Went last week and tried the stand by line which was long and hot since we were in line outside the building. The fast pass line was almost to the entrance of the building. I had a fast pass for later in the week so we didn't wait. It was really crowded every time we went by.

No offense to the Maelstrom lovers, but I rode it for the first time a few days ago and I wasn't impressed. I had a FP+ so I didn't wait long.
