It has been 5 years since I have taken a family to WDW!
Growing up we had Disneyland passes and went all summer. When we moved in the middle of the country far away from there, we then only visited occasionally. It was a place I remembered with great detail. I loved my childhood and my Disney life!
As an adult I wanted my children to experience the magic like me. Though I haven't at that time visited WDW I knew it was were I wanted to take my kids. With months and months of planning my husband(ex now) and I took our 2 kids in 2006. Then again in 2007, and 2008. Then I took my parents and family in 2010. Not knowing that this would be our last trip for a long time.
My husband of then and I divorced just shortly after that trip.
NOW....... My now blended family is ready for a Disney journey!! So much has happened in my own life in 5 years now I'm so lost in the Disney "World" (pun intended - lol)
We are a family of 6. My husband and I have 4 girls. We are completely lost. Prices have so definitely went up since 2010. haha and adding 2 more plus my older girls are way older.
I have no clue how to find the best deals for us. We are so broke but figure we will be broke our whole life lol ( I know, I know, with that negative attitude you will.. haha) So with needing the best deals so we are not scraping pennies for diapers.. Yeah, Did I mention we have a 2 year old? yep!
We have a 15, 13, 12, & 2 year old.
I picked the cheapest resorts I could find. I want Dining Plan for sure so know we need to stay on-site (which I wouldn't have it any other way)
Why is it soooooooo expensive for a family of 6? lol haha
So my questions.....
#1 Should I call to see if they have any discounts or specials for my financially broke family of 6 or is the website ordering just as good?
#2 I got a flyer in the mail for 30% off but not sure if that will work if I'm ordering a package. ??
#3 Any ideas how to save or earn money? (I looked through the budget board but it's filled with other things)*** we are going through our storage shed & house selling everything. haha & I do home businesses so I'm trying to amp that up. Every bit of loose change goes in a decorated jar just for WDW. I can't think of anything else. I'm blank
#4 We thought about renting an RV and staying at the campsites. Yes/NO? We are a very outdoors type of family & we do camp. My husband smokes also so thought this would be good. He doesn't smoke near any people at all. Nor in the house or car, stays away from kids too. So it's not too big of a deal but I want him comfortable & happy too.
#5 Are the cribs they bring up actual crib, cribs or play pens? My 2 year old sleeps in a daybed and will not handle a play pen to sleep in. I was just wondering if I can use their crib and butt it up against my bed with the rail down. (this kid is very very advanced it's scary. Drs even say how scary advanced she is. Talks, walks, & acts like a teenager, then again she has 3 sisters. With that said, I'm in no way scared of her falling out or getting hurt. Just comfy because if she's not comfy we will hear about it.
#6 Magic Bands are so new, I'm not sure how to use them or if they do extra fun stuff that the cards don't do. ???
#7 Refillable Mugs? Deactivate & activate? What in the world is that? If I purchase through Disney will it be activated for the whole 6nights/7days we are there?
#8 What are the little hidden things that people don't usually see or do?
#9 Epcot - My 2 oldest when they were little didn't get to do the KimPossible thing. Isn't there another adventure hunt like that now?
Thank you all so much for the help to answer my questions and help planning our family fun!
