Just wondering what anyone's opinion is on taking two 5 year olds on Splash Mountain. They make the height requirement, but they are really skinny (only 34 pounds each). My husband is a little concerned about holding onto them during the big drop. There are no worries that they will be scared. This is my all time favorite ride and I would love to share it with my DDs, but it's not worth it if my husband worries so much. What do you guys think?? :confused3 Thanks in advance!

DH took DS on Splash Mountain last spring when DS was 3.5 -- it was his favorite ride and they rode it 4 times. Your girls should be just fine, but you could always ride with one girl in front of each parent if that would make you feel more secure. :)

When we went in May my DD went on it with no problems. She was 5 at the time. But she also went on Space Mountain, Test Track and Tower of Terror. She had no fear but the only one that kinda scared her was Space Mountain. The reason she was she didn't like she couldn't sit next to someone.

I was hesitant to allow my 5 year old to go on Splash Mountain. I consented for her to go only on the condition that my DH put his arm around her during the big drop. Everything went fine and DD5 loves the ride! I've gone on the ride several times with her since --- always with my arm around her during the final drop.

I was hesitant to ride splash mountain myself for years because of that drop, and finally rode it last time we were there. I loved it. The last drop really isnt as bad as it looks. After going down a few smaller drops in the mountain, we went down the final big one and I had to turn around to make sure we actually went down it. I thought it wasnt the big one. Im sure they would be fine with mom and dads arms around them- or in front of them like DH likes to do in the car when stopping suddenly!!

My tiny DD3 wanted to go and well we caved. She rode it six more times. It was favorite ride! The height requirement at 40", so I am guessing the designers wouldn't take a risk letting wee ones on if it would pose a risk. I held on tight, and she was fine! It is such a wonderful ride- almost 13 minutes of fun, until the big drop. Go for it!

Both of my DD's are small framed and they both do great on it , over and over and over.....DH & I each take one DD with us and either put our arms around and hang on to the bar with them snuggly under our arm, or cross our arm over theirs while they are hanging on. No problems. Have a splash, I mean a blast!

My dd is 7 but is extremely tiny--35 lbs. She rode Splash several times, with either myself of dh holding onto her during the big drop.

She LOVED it! We wouldn't have ridden it more than once if we thought that it wasn't safe for her after riding it the first time. That drop didn't throw her around, or make her go forward or anything. We kept a tight grip just in case, and we all enjoyed the ride. Splash was one of her favorite rides.

Been there, done that, bought the souvenir photo. He's sooo cute in the picture.

Well, fellow DISers, thanks for some feedback on this "dilemma". I think I have DH convinced that it will be ok for DDs to go on Splash Mountain. Of course, him being him and all, he now decided that if they can go on that, they can go on Test Track! Which makes me nauseous by the way! Well, turn about is fair play, so they say. :confused3 I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that most of you would say that ride is okay, too!? Thanks for putting up with these questions! :rolleyes1

DD's first ride was after she had just turned 3 - it is her favorite ride - and we have the photo from each year as wonderful memories!!!! :earsboy:

We did it with our 5 year old and our 32 lb 3 year old this year. As above I just put an arm around the little one as we went down---I actually thought she popped up and down more on Thunder Mountain than Splash Mountain. It was very fun and I am a big worrier!!

DS6 LOVES it!! He was a little worried at first, but now it is his favorite ride. And he is a little skinny tail!!! I just put my hand on his knee for safe keeping and he kept his hands in the air!!!! :goodvibes :rotfl2:

My DS 4 wanted to ride it. Luck would have it that we got the front seat and he loved it! When I bought the photo, the CM remarked how much he seemed to love the drop. He's always been on the big side now at 42" and 42 lbs. Space Mountain is next when he grows a couple more inches. The funny thing is that when he was one, DW and I were waiting in line for a baby swap and the CM told us that we could all go on the ride. So at one, he got to ride Space Mountain and can't now. I know the cars are different now, making it impossible to carry a young child in your lap.

I started taking my kids on it when they were 4. The seats are very low(deep) and I don't even think my kids could see over the top, they just looked to the side. What helped mine was to tell them when a drop was coming. The first time I took my DD4, there is a dark drop in the middle which frightened her because she didn't know it was coming, neither did I for that matter!!

This is my DS4 favorite ride. He is 45 1/2 inches and 36 lbs. He has no problem with riding it.
