We are going to DL in the fall, and my DD, 5, really wants to ride Indiana Jones. She is currently 43 or 44 inches tall, and I see that Indy has a height requirement of 46 inches. I don't really think that she will grow a full 2 to 3 inches by the fall, but she might be very close. So my question is, knowing that this is a rough ride, would you "fudge" a little on her height so she could ride if she's almost there? I know that you can gain an inch or two by selecting the right shoes. My DH is all for it, but I'm hesitant because that ride is so wild. I know that she would love it, though!

There is no way to fudge that much! I can see maybe fudging 1/2 inch which we tried to do last year on the river ride at DCA and they wouldn't budge on letting my daughter on and honestly she was only 1/4 inch from being tall enough to ride.
I went on indy last year and it was so bumpy that I dont' think I would take my 5 year old dd on it. My dd in one year has grown 2 inches from last year at dL
good luck.

I wouldn't. Last year at WDW, I took my son (then 4) on Dinosaur - Countdown to Extinction, which is the same type of ride, but with a lower height requirement (I think it was either 40 or 42 inches). He is 42 or 43 right now. I spent the entire ride with one arm pressed across his chest for fear that he would be flung out. Plus the ride itself is very intense with loud noise along with the sudden movements. If she were tall enough and had the temperament to enjoy the ride, then I'd say go for it... but I wouldn't fudge it if she's close.

I rode this ride with my 7 year old (who is small for her age) in Ocotber. First of all, she barely made the height and they checked her over carefully including her shoes. She made it. Knowing both of my kids at age 5 they would have been scared. If your daughter has seen the second Indiana Jones movie and was not scared that may be a good indicator, however this ride is intense! It bumps around alot, is loud and pretty scary. I have friends who had a four year old who rode it and loved it. It really depends on the kid. Try Matterhorn which is a very jerky ride that is loud and partially in the dark. If that is not to her liking definitely skip Indiana Jones.
