This will be our first trip to WDW just the two of us and I want it to be really special. I booked the MVMCP on the 19th and I am now trying to decide on CP. She is five and I wanted to know what others experience had been with children at this program? Also, can you tell me the best place for us to dine...very picky five year old. Thank you so much for any and all help!!

Last year I took my 3 yr. old - He'll be 4 this year, and he's going again - he sat absolutely still the entire show (he also likes the Dapper Dans alot ). The show is about 80% singing - and most of the hymns are familiar - so if your daughter likes Christmas music, she will more than likely enjoy this. You can also sit close to the Interpreter for the hearing -impaired - she does a heck of a job "showing" what the music sounds like, and is quite entertaining to watch regardless (In the past, she has been on the right hand side - but I'd check with CMs there to be sure if you are interested in this idea).
As far as dining goes - Garden Grill has characters and "regular" food - turkey, mashed taters, chicken fingers, macaroni & cheese etc....I think most of the other restaurants have Children's menus with familiar food too- but Garden Grill is the only one with Characters...Jill

My son has been going to CP since he was 15 months old. He loves the music, lights and everything.

If you are concerned, sit closer to the rear of the theater, so you can leave easier.

I think that the show is about 40 minutes long. So I would use your previous experiences in similar situations as your guide. Each child is different.

As for the restaurant. They are usually pretty good with the children. IF you dont see something on the menu for them then just ask. PB&J is stocked in all the restaurants and they will be accommodating.

Here is the menu site for WDW. TAke a look, usually the CP pkg is a specific menu pulling favorites from the normal menu.

Every child is different.
My eldest has loved it since she was 3. (now 8)
My middle daughter we took at age 4 and she was intolerable.

Go with your gut insticnt on how the child reacts to sitting in a show , their appreciation of music etc.

I have done the CP dinner package with Le cellier and San Angel Inn. Loved them both . Food was great at LC but my kids weren't the best behaved. They love mexican and were fine there.
